The New 2014 BladeForums KNIFE Thread!

Thanks, John. Good Info.

Empire used to dye and finish some of their stag Black. Not as deeply dyed as modern Amber though. Here are a couple:

WOW Charley what great knives, the one in the middle especially I'd say a grail knife (for me). What would you call this pattern?

And back to the thread, Big thanks Charley and john for what you put into this process.

Mike

Unless I am mistaken it is simply known as a wharncliffe pattern (and gave birth to the blade shape that we now know the name by). I had a debate with Codger about this a while ago and he put me to rights about it. :)

And hopefully an option for those of us who don't do paypal? Please?
'Cause I'm buying one. :)

And even if it is payPal only, you know the folks around here. I am 100% sure that we (as in the great Traditional crowd) would find a solution for this if necessary ;)

:o You're the best

Really, With this knife's pedigree, I'd be happy buying one and waiting till I open the box to find out what it is!

Absolutely, you'll be able to order by proxy I'm sure. ;)

Well, I'm not sure if its "simply known as" (and I don't know enough to argue its not :)) but on page 246 of LG4, it shows a picture of a similar knife under "Wharncliffe Knives". Page 254 shows 3 blade versions called "Wharncliffe Whittlers" so... there you go. Or, there I go I guess :)

Awesome!

I always regretted not getting that first stag example of the forum knife, not going to miss this one! -

best

:) beyond my experience

Did the offerings from Canal Street and GEC get posted in the "wrong" thread? I thought this was the official one. :)

Totally my fault kimsalls!

I did indeed post in the wrong thread!! My apologies to all who got confused by my slip of the post!

As soon as I figure out the best path, I will set things right.

Sorry guys - too many threads! Too many posts!

This is mostly off topic, but do any of the other subforums do a yearly knife?

None of which I am aware. Spark (BF owner) did have a run of Kershaws made as a "BladeForums" knife. But that was to cover the entire BF set of forums, not a single subforum.
