The "Whatever" Thread

It's quiet today. Anyone have any plans for this weekend? I'll be south of Chicago for a wedding. Fun Fun.

I just did that yesterday. It had been 3 weeks because I was out in NY for two weekends in a row (plus the week between), then it rained all week last week, and then this past weekend it rained. Yesterday was the first day nice enough to get out there and mow, and it was bad. Taller than it should have been haha. Next weekend we will be renting a tiller and demolishing our entire back yard.

It's Family picture day. The boy just turned 4 and the little on is 18mo, so we have to document what we look like for posterity. My wife is stressed out about it, like she does every time. I don't know what she's worried about. This is the 10th or so time this photographer has shoot us. My wife is beautiful, the kids are beautiful and in spite of me being in them, we always end up with some terrific pictures. But she had to stress about something, I guess.

Well the weekend is here (yippie) and I'm off to the PO to mail the promised saws to their new homes, then I'm heading out to carve a dickens with the JK Wood Carver, and test fire the LCR with the new Hogue G10 grip.
I'll be back with pics (in the Carver thread) of the elusive dickens later today or tomorrow.

Hopefully there'll be some Morels poking their heads out of the ground while I'm out there too.

Ya'l have a good WE!

That would have me freaking out, snakes are one of only two things that scare the hell out of me!

Knowing it was not a good idea I got up at 4:00 this morning then headed to the pier for a couple hours of fishing before driving home. I'm home and worn out but it was worth it. This was the first time I've consistently caught nice sized mullet using lures instead of bait.

Went out to the garage only to discover this guy

lucky it was me and not one of the kids.

Yikes - did the rains bring that out? One of the things I miss / don't miss about living in that part of the country!

I don't know, maybe all the rain drove it inside but I hope to never see one around the house again.

It looks like you gave it a good stomping there rssajs.
Glad you found it and not one of the youngsters or a pet.

The thing I hate about Copper Heads and Moccasins is they don't have the courtesy of giving one a warning as to their presence like a Rattler does.Rude damn snakes...

A good morning fishing is worth getting up early for!
When I was stationed at MCAS New River in NC, my roommates took me Blue fishing one night.(I guess they have runs up the rivers)
Anyway, we didn't need bait, they were biting bare hooks and we filled a good sized cooler lickity split.(We had so much we got tired of eating the oily things after a while)
We had mullets jump into the jon boats we'd rent from special services while tooling around the bay and back creeks in.
