The "Whatever" Thread

Weather has been nice here the last few days. Took Hayley and Hanna to the big candy store in Indiana on Saturday, they enjoyed that!

Sunday was gorgeous (well, 45 and sunny feels like 70 after the previous week).

I was inside all day teaching a class, but at least the walk to the truck was nice. ;^)

Now I have jury duty this week, spent all day in a room with 170 of my fellow peers.

best

we're having a couple of nice days here as well, its very confusing but I'm enjoying them all the same, stocked up the wood pile while I had a chance. We did have some nasty rain last night but it still didn't drop below 40

I'll be in the classroom all day today though, atleast it has windows :)

Sorry you have jury duty, Andy, is that the right response or are you excited to be part fo the process? :p

deer hunt went well - i found a couple of lost ones and took the kids on a couple of "mentor hunts" so their grandpa could rack up 4 kills.
didn't shoot one myself, but got to bring home one of the 8 the group tagged over the 3 days.
also got in some good scouting - so the fall hunt should be productive.

I was waiting for you to tell us about it.

Sounds like you made out pretty well.

tomorrow night I'll be packaging roasts and grinding up scraps.
thawing a box of bacon ends and pieces as well - so I can grind some of that up and mix it with the venison.
may even add sausage spices to some of it.

You know you`ve totally lost it when you are grinding at 3am, it`s 21 degrees in the shop, and you are singing Rolling Stones songs!

Really starting to hate the postal service. Mailed 4 packages Wednesday, looks like 3 will be delivered today. My Christmas gift is now in Honolulu, hopefully it`s having a great time there, because that`s nowhere near where it should be.

At least it's getting a nice tan.

kitchen-aid grinder for the win -- 10 pounds of summer sausage curing in the fridge and 15 or so pounds of ground in the freezer.

John, that sucks... I had the USPS lose a package of 3/8 steel targets(about 8 knock down targets and one 12 inch gong). How the hell do you lose a package that probably weighed 60+ pounds? Filed a claim and never heard boo from them... Someone out there is enjoying my targets. Hope you knife enjoys a few sunny and warm days and then goes to it's proper desalination.

1066, sounds good! I grind my own deer with a nice Cabelas grinder I bought a few years ago. It came with a sausage attachment but I haven't tried it out yet but will need to at some point. I have a local Bavarian deli here make some of my deer into landjager sticks, it's so good!

Also, stopped into my local Cabelas today with $600 worth of gift cards burning a whole in my pocket. Walked out with a CZ 75 p-07! Love my CZ's, this is my third and won't be my last!

saw a cz-75 at the gun show here for $450 new today -- wish I had some of those gift cards. :)

$450 for a all metal CZ 75 is a good deal! Too bad they don't give out gift cards to gun shows:D
