The "Whatever" Thread

survived the family reunion.
400 miles round trip and tried to put myself in both a meat coma and a pie coma.

Just to see if I could do it, I made myself a buck saw.(I don't really need it, just wanted to do it if you know what I mean.)
Not professional grade, but serviceable and I'm very happy with the outcome.
All together it cost around $20 (give or take a couple) with materials bought at Lowe's.(not counting the spray on Acrylic I had on hand)
Not bad for just using a hack saw, cordless drill, files/sand paper, pocket knife & a drillpress vice and doing it on the dinning room table.:)
It is nice and solid and the 24" blade should be a good size for campfire sized wood.

Yeah - nice Myke - now you just need to get it a good try out and buck up some wood. Probably best not to do that off the dining room table too :D.

As for surviving family reunions - getting into a coma sounds like a good strategy. My wife is an EXCELLENT pie maker so I could submit to that easily.
Welcome home Mr Vic.

I need to spend more time in this thread. There's some great stuff here. Nice pistola, a dream Schrade and super cool butcher on this page alone.

I just got in from a long weekend of teaching and this thread has really got it all!

Beautiful traditional knives and Goncalo Alves Rugers - all good stuff!

Great looking saw, Mykel! All the more impressive with being done with limited tooling.

Mmm - Old Hickory

Mmmmm - GP100

The things I miss when the internets down at work.

Good news - the kitchen knife arrived. Now to figure out what I'm going to do with it!

I didn't know they had one in Tennessee. Dang, I missed out.

They don`t anymore. It was in Nashville at Opry Mills. They never reopened after the flood a few years back. There was actually three knife stores there, none any more.

south and west - never even left the state.

Beautiful country, Erik -

I still need to get down your way to attend one of your gatherings - I did not even do or plan a bike tour this summer.

The concealed carry training business is keeping me on my toes (And off of my motorcycle).
