I bought about $2000 dollars worth of the camel bone at the Oregon knife show. It is beautiful stuff.

I bet the camels would have paid $2001 to not sell it to me.
 
Im loving this knife and am definately going to buy one. Will the green bone handle ones be available for purchase? Not seeing them for sale @ KSF.

Mine should arrive today! I'm going to run home on my lunch break and keep my fingers crossed that the mail is running on time!
 
it would have been a perfect knife for me with wooden scales. Perfect size, perfect everything.
 
Just saw this thread, raced over to ksf and placed an order. Absolutely stunning, I was in love immediately. Can't wait to get mine in.
 
Got mine today in Cashmere, it is better than it looks. Great feel to it. When i learn to post pics i'll post a few of my traditionals; i just accumulate and use them.

Just curious, what bone from the camels are they?

I raced home at lunch to raid my mailbox. I must say, even though I handled one of these during production, I had forgotten just how perfect they feel in hand.

Sorry they aren't the best photos, but man, this thing is GREAT!

Now, to save a few pennies so I can get one in stag on order...

Hats off to Derrick and GEC, they have a real winner here!

Dan, how long did it take to get yours in? I just placed an order for mine this morning and I'm already anxious to get it in.
 
I ordered this Friday around 10 in the morning or so (eastern standard time). It was definitely shipped quickly! I actually would have had it yesterday, had it not been for the mail holiday.
 
Alright! Just got mine in, too!
Had a really hard time capturing the beauty of the bone!
But here's what I've got so far:





Initial impressions?
WOW!
The bone is gorgeous, and there's so much of it.
Ooooo, the snap on opening is tremendous, and really is a thing to hear! I don't think any of my other GEC's are like it!
Feels great in hand, and in the sheath feels great in pocket, barely noticeable.
The sheath is great, if a little stiff (of course), but I really like it. Might have to pick up a few more KSF sheaths for some of my others....oh, and that great new leather smell!
Really, just a spectacular job Derrick and GEC! :thumbup:
Edit - forgot to mention, will shave arm hair right out of the sheath

I just ordered mine. Cashmere bone. It was the last one too. :D I cannot wait to get this thing. It will definitely be the coolest and best looking knife I own.
 
Just because I started looking at the traditional forum, I got this in the mail today. Thanks a lot you guys, this knife is great.
