WARNING: Issues with cvuicich, ja2072, was: What does LNIB mean?

There was no "snarky remark"...

PM Time line .....

(12:07pm ja2072) "Hey man. I am not at all satisfied with my purchase. The pocket clip has several scratches on it. There are chips in the blade and scratches on the body. You sold it as LNIB!I don't want to cause a big issue here on the forum but this is no bueno."

(12:14 brandoak) "You have my full attention. What separates LNIB from NIB? Would "like new in box" be the same as almost new? and brand spanking new would be NIB?"

(12:32 ja2072) "I can assure you if you put it up for debate on the forum, you won't find the masses agree with your description. I have filed a claim with paypal and will pursue this further with them. Thank you."

(12:52 brandoak) "Would sending you some money make you anymore satisfied with the purchase?"

..........I started this thread..... 1:11pm

..........no answer and Paypal now informed me that buyer wants $178.00 to resolve .......

(1:37 brandoak) "Would $100.00 to your paypal make this work? I want to resolve this."

(1:54 ja2072) "Yes, that is a fair offer. Thank you."

(2:01 brandoak) "Paypal info please"

That's a pretty fast and immediate claim to Paypal if you ask me....which froze my bank account and paypal.

I agree that scuffs or scratches on a knife disqualifies it from being accurately described as "LNIB" - and that LNIB means that a knife has been carried, handled and perhaps even lightly used, but there are no visual or functional indications of that light carry / handling / use.

If I were selling that knife, I would have described as "Excellent condition with signs of carry, handling and use."

First question. Did you buy this for another member?

I purchased the knife as "LNIB Safe Queen". The knife arrived to me w/ signature required at 11:42am, I reached out to the seller within 10 minutes about being unhappy withe scratches, signs of use and wear on Blade and that I wasnt satisfied with my purchase. The seller replied with a snarky remark with what is NIB, what is LNIB, etc. instead of any offering to make this right. Therefore I utilized the paypal protection that we all love so much, I requested a partial refund and he then contacted me to setitle for a $100 partial refund through the paypal systen. There was no scamming or trickery, simply buyer receiving an item not in condition not as advertised and seller and buyer agreeing to a settle. Let's keep in mind were dealing with luxury goods here, a custom Marfione not a $50 Kershaw. I extended trust that was not due to the seller. Knife wasnt as advertised and he made me whole. The quickness to witch hunt is a little unsettling.

New w/ box as received from factory

Never used or carried
11/2004

Partially serrated UTX70 from the OG Microtech days

$170 Shipped NET!

You love the paypal protection so much? But you are still doing the net thing. Don't you remember your thread on the subject? You know, this thread where you say you hate all the trade offers but neglect to say no trades and infact show that you are in favor of using paypal gift:

Examples of net with no mention of trades:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...want-trades-Consensus?p=15975554#post15975554

Example of you violating paypals terms:

$30 Shipped

Used but in good condition and complete, ready to install.

Price is net. PP friends or + Fee

You see, when you start a thread in the GB&U your activity will also be looked into. You used foul language in a family friendly portion of the forum, you did and continue to list net without mention of trades even though you started a thread complaining about trade offers, and you clearly would like to circumvent paypal its fair share, a share you in fact agreed to pay. That is why you are already on ignore for me and then you add this mess? Guess what, you will be going on many more peoples ignore lists. You've already proven yourself untrustworthy. Why should anyone trust what you say now?

Do you have evidence that this purchase was for another member? Can you prove it?

^ The buyer couldn't answer a simple question.
Did you buy this knife for someone else?
Did you tell Brandoak that you were buying it for someone else when you said you would take it?

No witch hunt here, but there is a lot of BS going on and it seems to be originating with ja2072 and his buddy!
I think most of the "masses" seem to think you and your buddy were wrong! But you have your knife and the $100 your friend wanted discounted from the knife.
I have never put anyone on Ignore, congratulations you and your buddy just made the list!

Re: Custom Scarab

Payment sent. Thanks!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

04-20-16 11:33pm (ja2072) ........., I bought it for him.............

ja2072 also promised to buy the DOC on the listing as well, said he was going to pay in a day or so, had me take it off the listing as sold.... -------- its still marked as sold on the listing.-------

brandoak, you are Golden in my book. I'm sure others feel the same way.
The other 2 guys, I'd be very surprised if anyone wants to deal with them after reading this whole thread.
They might not get banned, but what they did was shady and immoral!

^ Perfectly stated, STR.

Spindoctor ja2072, can attempt to rationalize he & his co-conspirator's actions all he wants. IMO, it's undisputable, the unethical approach they took to acquire the OP's Custom Scarab. They have zero credibility! I for one, am not buying the disparity in the photographs taken by the OP, for his both his sales thread & documentation of his Scarab's condition prior to shipping, & the one's taken & presented by these two cohorts, to extort a discount. And that PayPal dispute he (ja2072) filed: great way to treat a brother in this community. :thumbdn: There's a constructive tool we all have the ability to use: "communication!"

It will be interesting to see, what if any actions will be taken against these two, for their blatantly deceitful way of transacting.

I personally would be content, seeing this guy ride off into the sunset on his giraffe, & never come back...

Can one of you help me, by pointing out where it shows buyer one being involved in buyer 2's purchase. I seem to be missing it.
Thanks

Brandoak is good to go.

Did a deal with him about a month ago, no problems, no drama, smooth sailing.

Sorry you had to deal with this headache but at least it's only $100 and it's over now.

It would be much more solid if the PMs or emails were posted rather than a few posts mentioning it, one by a 3rd party.

The seller stated that buyer #2 (ja2072) said he bought the knife for buyer #1 (cvuicich).
Two shady people for sure.

Yes, I referred to that.

The other PMs regarding the description discrepancy, the PP claim and the partial refund has been posted. The actual buyer completely omitted a response about buying for the other party. I for one would appreciate the proof before a conspiracy is called.

^ post #67. That plus the fact that ja2072 hasn't responded much speaks volumes. If someone accused me of doing something shady, you better believe I would be fighting tooth and nail defending myself and offerings what proof I had.

I'm surprised the people at Paypal still haven't figured out the issue with this item yet, being an automatic and all.
Has anyone asked the "buyers" to chime in yet? If something is running afoul, then we gots to take a swing at this if you know what I mean.
