Week-end Post, What Are You Doing

I am cooking up some Cacoila ( marinated pork)today to have for tomorrow. Will have some newbies over tomorrow, to get the lay of the land.:D May be building a forge for one of them too.:cool: :thumbup:
 
This is going to be a relaxation weekend after having caught up with the firewood and other chores. We have had a miserable cold wet summer so far, and if the forecast holds up, we will have a couple of days of nice beach weather before the next wet cold front returns.

So tommoro will be a day in the boat with the cooler filled with beer, beach activities, and ribs for the BBQ, and a hot sauna with a jump in the lake. Heck it can't be all work without some play.
 
I got a piece of brass over 2" in in diameter and I am going to make a little cannon out of it, complete with carriage. I think about 75 caliper balls should be about right. If I make the mussel ring about 1.75 and then go to 1.5 and back up to 2 inches. will be about a foot long.
 
I just got back from Central Texas Knife Show. I was there Friday and today all day. I decided to come back early cause I had enough adventure and got to see a cutting demo. I'll post pics on the show in the Central Texas Knife Show thread. I have about 50 pics.

BBBBB Beaver, I made up the new combinations dies for my press this weekend. The pieces you gave me for the drawing dies work SWEEEET.:thumbup: :cool: :D
 
You got any contact info from the guy who owns all the anvils? I know plenty of us here would love to own one of those.

To get one of those shipped to Texas would cost as much as you will pay for the steel :eek:

I'm sure there is a barn somewhere out around your area that is packed just like the one Justin found,,,,I wish I would have found that place :eek:
 
Well its Friday the 27th and I will be heat treating two knives this weekend. Its a new one for me. I may grind it out as well. But need to get the yard work on its way. How about all of you? Later friends -------------:)
 
Last weekend the weather was cold and wet, and the beach activities were called off, and yard work got done. It turned blistering hot this week, lakes are nice and warm now and the weather cooperating.

So its going to be an easy one, a cooler filled with beer for the day fishing out in the boat. BBQ with ribs, and a hot sauna to follow.
 
I'll be hitting the NCCA show in Marlboro mass this weekend, and perparing for a week in vegas next week. My first real vacation in 18 months so i'm looking forward to it greatly.
 
I'll be fishing. I hope to soon get a battery for my trolling motor and also get my boat registered in my name. Still need to get a new quench tank and a muffle for my forge so i can better heat treat my blades.
 
I suppose I will start finishing a few blades I just got back from Mr Bos, and maybe head out to the range to shoot some, and get those archery muscles back in shape, season's creeping up slowly.
 
Was planning a Mini-HI this weekend, but I had to rush my Lady to the hospital on Wednesday and it look like she will be in there for awhile.:( :jerkit: :jerkit:
 
Man that sucks IG. Keep us informed with her progress. So why was she sent to the hospital? She have another fall?
