Week-end Post, What Are You Doing

Hi Ya'll

Saturday, forged a sword to bring to Ashokan, Saturday evening did a bunch of ibuprofin cause of sore shoulder from forging a 20" sword:eek:. Also, Linda and I went for a cycle ride .

Sunday morning, started grinding the sword. Linday and I are going for a cycle ride :D.

Monday, I'll grind on that sword a little more. In the afternoon we're going to the Irish Festival, so I can have a few jars of Guiness :D and have some fun dancing to the Glengarry Bhoys a Celtic band from Ontario.

Are you riding the cycles to the Irish Festival? :)

Hrm, an irish festival in newport this weekend and I didnt know about it. To think I drove out to Carver on saturday to listen to a piper !

Maybe i'll toss on a kilt and head on down to newport tomorrow ! Of course that depends on how late i end up sleeping >_<

Crap, a 4 day weekend and I have had a head cold the whole time. I did manage to get my 10" contact wheel going on my KMG and built a rest for it, I have partially rewired the kiln I am using for hardening. I have also got part way thru mounting vises on both my anvil stands. But, it isn't very pleasant with a stuff head and sore throat.

Scott, My plans for Monday at the festival were to have tooo many Guiness', which I certainly did. Marleen, Kook's wife was the designated driver:confused: .

All things worked out fine, I had my fill of beer, found a new Celtic band to listen to. Their name is the "Tartan Terrors" from Toronto, Canada area. Good music, good food, good beer and of course great friends, it don't get any better than that:thumbup:

September 7, 2007. Well I been working on some new knives for about 3 weeks now. And getting all the wood cut for winter. I have came up with some great knives that I will be working on this winter. Orders are not to bad right now. I have 5 going out this week. This weekend I will be doing clean up work in the shop. How about all of you? :)

got the wife's grand mums memorial to go to :( and tinkering on the new Toy
got to get head of steam built up for next week..

Not a clue what i'm doing this weekend >_< it's the only weekend for the rest of the month I dont have plans for. Next weekend I'm meeting a friend from out of town , and going to the Patriots home opener against the Chargers, the weekend after that I'm camping up the white mountains and going to the New Hampshire Highland Games, and the weekend after that I'm camping in CT and going to the New England Blacksmith's fall meet.

Maybe I'll try to finish this 2nd sgian dubh I'm working on this weekend, and maybe sell it in 2 weeks at the highland games.

Alrighty then. Going to shoot some fish on saturday and dodge the sharks. Stitch a sheath, and finish a handle on the knife that the sheath goes with.

Well today I changed my LR strut on my car. This weekend I plan to do some more bowfishing and hang with a buddy of mine and then head to moms house to help her out. I'm hoping to get 2-3 of the 4'-6' Longnose gar I keep seeing in the river. A few days ago I shot a Longnose gar that was about 4 1/2'-5' long and about 20lbs. Still working on a handle design for the bowfishing knife and trying to figure out how to make the wrench for the tips and also make the handle float. I have a lot of guys interested in the knife.

Heres a little 4 footer I shot yesterday morning. She didn't put up much a fight.

STILL up in the mountains doing the house project. Learning the last bits I don't know about building my own. I'm not sold on straw bales yet but the post and beam is sure fun.

Not getting a lot of knifework done because when I AM home I need to spend lots of time with family and fixing stuff.

MY 4 year old got a plastic workbench and was really sad because the table saw isn't real and the plastic vise sucks ass. He's got a real vise which he says is much better. So I got him a little fine toothed hand saw and he's cutting firring strips like crazy. I told him he gets to use a table saw when he can cut a straight rip down a 4 foot 2x4 by hand. He says he'll do it when he's Bigger.

Daughter is 11 months and can make noises through a cardboard tuybe, grab noses when you say nose, do high-5, and climb the wife's sewing table without assistance. ...

Back up the hill today, hopefully the smoke from thye plumas fire won't be as bad as last week.

And I might get bluing and sharpening done on the phenolic handled test knife today. maybe. if I'm lucky :)

Jake, Jake, Jake,

I'm not really going to go THERE, but she put up a hell of a fight

Ya we got to keep this clean. I hope I don't have to do the same thing once I find the right woman. :D At the most I would just lasso her to get her to marry me.

Well this weekend I'm moving back in with mom and still trying to get my land sold. I have a lot of handyman work to do here at moms. She is trying to get this house ready to be put on the market. Here is a track light I just finished installing about 30 minutes ago. What yall think?

I have so much work to do and will have even more work to do once mom goes in for disk replacement surgery on the 19th.

With cooler weather expected I plan on working on the wood pile effort. This year's wood is piled and ready, but it is time to buck up and split the other 6 or 7 cords of birch thats still in 8 foot lengths. That way it will dry and I will have room for when Ray comes with his 10 cord truck load of wood for the year after that.

The wood pile is an on going issue around here, never can have enough wood. Can't afford nor justify using furnace oil at those prices except for when I am away.

Jacob,

Good luck with you Mom's surgery, and good luck to you getting all that work done. As you're only in your 20's it should be a piece of cake as far as energy levels :D. The track light looks cool dude ;)

Myself, I'm heading out to the garage (shop) to re-arrainge things so I can fire up the forge and HT the sword that I'll be bringing to Ashokan tomorrow. I know the sword will not be done, but I'll bring it anyway.

See ya'll after Ashokan

My weekend starts at 6:30 this evening!

I'm gonna spend Friday and part of Saturday in the shop. I'm hoping to finish up a couple of choppers. Saturday afternoon we're going up north to our camp. Sunday my family and a bunch of our friends are going on an ATV ride for the day.

Have a great weekend!
Scott
