Week-end Post, What Are You Doing

Well, I am finally getting around to laying up some speargun blanks to ship back to my house. I have a lot of work to do to use $80 of epoxy. Just think guys, 19 days till I get to touch blade steel again!!!!! I am taking 30 days of leave just to get some knives done and get my new machinery up and running! Okay, well I might use a day or two to go kill some fish and fill the freezer.

I just finished spreading 5 yards of mulch. Going out to set up the two party tents (20X10 each) and the 10X10 food tents after I cool down some. I'm having 60-80 Scotsmen and women over for a BBQ tomorrow. I'll take pictures. The temperature is going to be 100F tomorrow.

we just got back from visiting santa cruz- camping, family, and meeting up with MtnFlkMike.

Finishing a couple sheaths for a review knife thing, maybe building a new workbench this weekend.

And, starting the website, finally. It's hard to populate something quickly like that.

Working and not even on knives. Grrrr.... Dip net season is getting into swing and you cant believe how busy net sales are. Not to mention all the people needing white gas, lures and such. Luckily I have Sunday off.
 
Well it was hot, but what a party! 40 people came. It was 97 from 2PM until 5PM. We had a blast. Pipers, fiddlers, penny whistles, guitars,bohdrans, singing in Gaelic. Lots of ice cold beer, and gallons of ice water.15# of gourmet BBQ and 10 whole smoked BBQ chickens. Party lasted 5 hours. I put up the castle gateway and brought out the sheep.

Looks like a lot of fun. I've been meaning to learn to play the pipes for a while now, even got a practice chanter and a book last summer, but havent really had the time to do so yet.

Got the new Roof on the other day and it looks great. This coming week going out of town up to Wisconsin Dells. I rented a Cabin up there and its time to set back and drink some cold beer and pig out. Hope you all have a great week as well. :thumbup:
 
Have a fellow coming over to my place on sunday to forge blades all day, spending saturday cleaning the house and working on some home improvement projects
 
Working on the shop,gonna finish running the electical on 2 walls and insulate and osb board. It's only been in progress for 6 years but I can see the end. Unless I start on more knives and don't get the wall board up.:D
 
Gonna finish the welding on a billet which I hope I will be able to manipulate a nice ladder pattern into.

It's approx 51 layers now and I plan on doing one more 3 section weld bringing it up to approx 153, then grind the "ladder" into then flatten.
 
Our baby shower is today so I'll be surrounded by crying women all day long....

Hopefully tomorrow I'll get a line wet though :)
 
Kook and I finished this 153 layer billet. I tried to get a ladder pattern out of it, seems like it came out ok for the effort. It's made from 1084 (thanks Mace) L6 (sawmill blade) and 15N20 courtesy of Dan Gray.

Kook, Marleen, Linda and I are going out tonight for dinner at the Texas Road House, then back to my house to light up the chimenea and have a few drinks :thumbup:

Tommorow Linda and I are going to go to the movies and hand out at home afterward.
