Week-end Post, What Are You Doing

Got home on Friday from a two week visit with familly.
Saturday I started cutting my 1.5 acre lawn which grew 2 feet with all the rain we had while I was away. Then I got the sattelite dish up and running.

Today once the rain stops, I will clean up the burning barrel the bear ripped up while we were away, and do some more of the lawn.

go to a good welding shop and get 1/8 inch brazing rod, voila, 1/8 inch pins, if you are using epoxy on your handles, spin 4 inch lengths in a drill, and gently hold sharp new 120 grit sandpaper against it to give it some tooth for the epoxy

Back from todays events. I had a good day....even sold 6 knives ( which was not anticipated). Forged a couple bowies, a bunch of blacksmith projects, and spent about 3 hours working on the blade for the Ashokan Pole Arm Challenge.
I also forged a small belt axe from Wrought Iron with an inserted 1084 bit, of which the entire welding and shaping process was filmed by a local cable TV channel. They are going to let me know when it is edited and ready to run. Thank God, the weld took and the edge drew out to a nice shape ( it doesn't always go perfect, you know).
More fun tomorrow.

I went to the Cental Texas Knife Show yesterday, had a real good time and got some nice mamoth ivory. Today got some ribs on the pit smokin and gonna do a little work in the shop.

Back from Sunday's forging. 92 degrees, but a nice breeze. I finished forging the blade for the pole arm challenge. Met some nice blacksmiths and got invited to demo sword forging at a guild meeting. Took some interesting orders, and sold some blacksmithed items. Al together a great weekend.

Its been a big week here in the shop. But this week-end I will be ripping out the old landscape timbers from around one side of the home and installing new one about 60.5 feet of treated. The old ones was about fifteen years old.

Also, will be cleaning up the shop and getting the yard work done. Sunday will be ripping out some old brown grass and re-seeding some good old blue grass in. Sunday night I have plans on designing a new pattern for a knife. How's your week-end shaping up? :)

Going to the NCCA knife show in Marlboro MA on sunday, today i'm working on building a hearth pad and planning the flue for a new pellet stove that's sitting in the middle of my living room.

Two more skinner knives are finished including the sheaths, one of the customers is going to pick his up today.

Now I am going to turn my efforts towards the bathroom renovation. Start pulling up the walls to remove the tub to make room for a new shower stall to go in its place.
