Week-end Post, What Are You Doing

Packing up the shop (and everything else)... Moving up to Lexington IL next week...and yeah IG, maybe keepin' half an eye on that bigfoot thing while I'm at it :D

Building a crate for the casting equipment I am shipping to Hawaii, for Farmer Phil ( really Phil, I'm going to get on it as soon as the rain stops). Then some more work on the naginata, and maybe a HT on a very special blade.

I never got any sort of response back from the code of the west people for the roseville gun show this weekend. ... ...

But I do have my spot for Reno next weekend! Kinda worried about the expense- it's going to cost a couple hundred dollars beyond the booth fee, so if I don't sell $400 I'm hurting.

Right now I have 23 knives to take for sale, another 3 or 4 not for sale, and I'm hoping to have another 6 finished by wednesday evening. (4 of those are heat treated and just waiting on handle finishing)

So my weekend and all next week is finishing one last order for a birthday deadline, and the show.

August 22, 2008

This week-end I will be working out in the shop on another order. Also, need to get more yard work done before Monday. Sunday my day off with the family. Hope your week-end looking up. :)

Electrician coming tomorrow morning to give an estimate on a 100->200 amp service upgrade, then probably driving down to the naraganset south county museam for some blacksmithing. Sunday i've gota drill a hole in my wall and install some pellet vent pipe, paint some woodwork, and hopefully mow the lawn that's been neglected for 3 weeks while i was out of town.

Bro!!! Think you could fit in, the posting of pic's from my last HI?????

Linda and I are starting our vacation tomorrow. I'll be riding the cycle and Linda will drive the SUV. We're going to Addison, VT on Lake Champlain to the Vermont State campground DAR. We'll be there till next Saturday, then home. On Labor Day we'll be going to the Irish festival in Newport, RI.

Been doing scheduled maintainance on the cycle, and she's ready to roll

Summer hammerin pics up!

Didnt have that many, just got them off my camera when i got my vacation pics off.

Got my tickets in the mail today for the NH Highland Games, so yeah, i'll be missing ashokan this year, but I do have tickets to see the Glengarry Bhoys and Albannach in concert saturday night while i'm there !

Justin,

I'll be seeing the Bhoys on Monday Labor Day at the Irish Festival.

We might go check them out at Lake Placid, about 50 miles from where we're camping in VT. It's a one hour drive, (in the car). If we go to see the band, I won't be able to take the cycle, cause I'm sure I'll have a few too many  :D

By the way the pics form the Summer HI at IG's came out pretty good, thanks for posting them.

Do some bronze and silver casting to try to get caught up on orders, grind polish and etch another metallurgically correct 13th century knife I have been working on (this one is a custom order), try to get some work done on the shed that will eventually be my smithy ( I have to rebuild the completely rotten falling apart one rather than build a new one from scratch which would be easier and cheaper because the zoning has changed and my yard is too small to allow a new one, so I will completely replace the old one without having it visably demolished at any point beyond the fact that the roof is missing and the walls have holes. It will molt like a bug)
Put some miles on my sportster, and ponder the fact that I am another year closer to the grave today

Oh yes, start my polearm challenge project :)

Just making knives in the basement... I have a buddy at work who's coming over to learn a couple things and enjoy a couple Bud Lights...

Yard work, worm shots for the 26 Boer goats I look after, and sneaking to the shop to play with some of the 1084FG I got from Aldo,

Aye carumba, and to think that I called it a successful shop weekend because I got a little blade forged out yesterday morning and painted a paper towel holder that I had forged.

Someday all these projects around the house will get finished and then i'll actually have shop time.
