Week-end Post, What Are You Doing

Tomorrow night I will be manning the phones at WHRO for their spring pledge drive. The program that evening is "Celtic Thunder". I will be with about 12 other kilted Scots.

:D:D Nice thing about a Harley, open up the gas valve put the choke on, she fires right up, even after sitting outside under a tarp all winter! This is so much nicer than my old Jap bikes first spring starts!

Took her up and down the block (still too much salt on the main road)

Needs to be one or two more good rainstorms!

Got a small welding job to take care of for a band mate. Picked up the pieces for this little job yesterday, I'll get it welded up this morning. I've got to fit the handle on a bowie, I'd like to have this one ready for show and tell at IG's HI in April.

Thank God, I finally just finished a shop job I've been working on in every spare minute since the end of December!

Yay!

Now, I think I'll do nothing at all except open a few beers. And the honey just filled my beer fridge. Oh yeah...
 
I've been puttering around with my camping gear and sharing my vast wisdom :jerkit: here all day... beer sounds good... too lazy to cook today, think I'll order up some chinese for dinner :D
 
Put 4 new lights outside of the house and replaced the springs on the garage door. Just finished up restringing and tuning the reels on 3 of 9 fishing rods getting ready for the season. Boat batteries are on the charger ready to go.
 
Well, I finally got out into the shop for a good session, today.
I made the blades ( flint look) for three bear jaw knives ( in the oven now); made a Sioux war club in elk; a Sioux child's toy ( small play hawk) made in elk and bear;finished the handles on four chef's knives; put the handles on two carving forks; and made a hoof knife (next knife show is up in horse country). I also did a bit more on the hawk that Bill Moran started. It is nearly finished ,now. I also sharpened twenty or so gravers.
I hope to get the bear jaw knives finished this week.

Stacy, I would love to see pictures of those toys. My inlaws do reenactments and my youngest often goes with them. I'd love to make her something like that.
 
I'll try and shoot a photo tomorrow. It is made from an elk tine and the mandible (rear blade part) of a bear jaw. It looks like a small war club/hawk. You could do the same thing with a wooden hawk blade,too ( and much easier).

Todaay, I have Ron coming over to put WI bolsters on his knife. Tomorrow, I have a ton of yard work to do. Sunday, I have new tenants, starting to work on the apartment. It looks like I'll have a new student. The dude is a knife freak, when I showed him some of my knives yesterday, all he could say was "Oh!!! Wow!!!" over and over again. HEHEHEHEHE!!!!;)
 
Skipping town with the girlfriend today. Gonna shop, eat too much and stay in a hotel so we can have sex without kids knocking on the door and her dog trying to shove his cold wet snoot up my butt :eek:

I'm not even entering the previous conversation about dogs and butts. :barf:

I'm giving up on even guessing what I'm doing over the weekends......

I hope to visit my shop and do some knife related stuff. I have a knife that needs the handle shaped, sharpened and sheathed for a customer. I have 2 knives that need to be hand rubbed, handled and sheathed. I have 2 knives that require Burr King loving and heat treat. I need to make ME a knife!!!! Batson's is coming up soon.

I'm getting frustrated by all the honey do's and other stuff (not my kids) that is interfering with my shop time :( I'm going to start wearing a big sign that says "YOUR inability to plan does not constitute an emergency for ME" I'm going to write on the back of the "will work for stinky food" sign that IG mailed me. :p
