Week-end Post, What Are You Doing

Working on some new knife designs. Laying them out on paper as also. Doing the yard work. Tv and family this week-end. ------------ :jerkit: :D

Putting the finishing touches on my bass boat and getting ready for the season. (Yet another hobby I can't afford). All new dash and guages, a bit of hull repair, new electronics and on and on and on. Here's a photo of the new dash I put in a few weeks ago. I surprised myself, all the gauges work.

Well, I been sick all week long. Hope to get something done in the shop this week-end. Bike's in the paper waiting for someone to call about it. Been up for 4 days can not sleep. Hope you all are doing better then me.

Hope you get some rest and feel better, Barkes. There's always NyQuil...

As for me I'm, in the lovely position of it being 11 on Friday and I don't even know if I "get" to go to work Monday... nice of a boss to let the crew know whether or not they're still laid off, eh? Don't they realize this has a serious impact on how much I can spend on beer this weekend?!?

Tonight Im going to the range shooting for a few hours, then tomorrow its a full day of shop time and spring cleaning in the yard to pick up the 10,000 branches that came down in that last windstorm.

Forging! I have a bunch of damascus made up into bars and some 52100 balls pounded out into bars. Now I'm going to make some knifey shapey things out of them. I lit the forge up last night and forged two out (and I was even happy with them!).

I spent some time today getting some wire for my welding machine (ran out tack welding a ball bearing onto a piece of rebar last night). I filled my propane tanks and picked up some vermiculite too. Before I start though, I have two 10' X 12' awnings to put up. They were only $99 at Walmart. We bought one three years ago and it just died last fall. That's only $33 bucks a year for an awning. My patio is 12' X 20', so I bought two new ones. They'll be side by side on the patio. I'll be able to forge in the rain now!

today im mowing moms grass. tomorrow i start my new dead-end job. not sure about sunday but i hope that sometime this weekend or next week i get another knife finished. i just hope that i dont get followed home by a pack of coyotes from the burger smell ill have. incase you missed it my new job is actually something i did back when i was in highschool and now i need some extra money flowing in. ill be a cook at sonic drive-in. :jerkit::jerkit::jerkit:

ooops, almost forgot the weekend funny pic.

Bruce, you need to work on knives. The pistol/folder can wait.

I'm drying epoxy as I write. Also going to get a real tool and I'm not heading to Harbor Freight. I'm trying the flea market first.

well i survived the first day of burger flipping. still have my sanity even tho i have now been awake for 25 1/2 hours. should be going to sleep soon.

well it looks like i am off today so i will be able to work on my yard and my knives. im also going to work on a new table for my 2x42. those aluminum ones piss me off because they leave scratches now matter how much i clean them things off. this one im making out of plexy and using the work stop that came with my grinder. im just going to drill it out for 2 screws and on the plexy im just going to drill and tap it. do you think i should epoxy it down too?

Well its Friday and I am waiting on selling the bike and getting my new ZTR for the yard. Will be doing some filework for a custom knife. All orders are up to date now. What are you all doing on this week-end. ----------

Heading down to foxwoods tonight, then to new york city for my brother's 30th birthday party. hes putting us up in the W for the weekend, so it should be a nice treat! Ive been shooting alot and am joining a pistol team to shoot bullseye competition so thats a fun new thing to do as well.

Sitting in my hotel room right now, getting fired up to watch the freek show at Harley's hammer-in in Tennessee!

Wish me luck... I might not get out alive!

Checking the mail for the drive belt and steel I have ordered... wearing out my elbows hand-sanding that woods knife... various yard/housework and looking for a damn job... I can't afford to be laid off all freakin' summer again

well i will be learning how to weld and working on a few knives. if i get a chance ill get to test out this new fillet knife i finished last night. i still cant believe how well the handle came out geometry wise. other than that im not sure what my weekend is going to be.

Lucky dog!!! I REALLY wanted to make it to Harley's this year, but, well....I'm at work...you guess how that plan worked out...

Family in town this weekend so I'll probably be seeing them. Other than that, as much shop time as I can muster. I've got one blade to forge out and grind, another to grind and HT, one to fit a guard to and handle, and 3 little neckers (my first stock removal!) to grind on a bit more before I drop them off to Butch for HT (CPM154...can't do that in the forge ;) )

I'll be one busy guy this weekend!

I'm going to do some more forging. Hope to hammer out three or four knives. I'm also calling an acquaintance of mine. He came over a couple of weeks ago and started forging a knife out a 52100 ball. I want to see if he wants to finish it this weekend.

He's also interested in buying my plasma cutter. About a year ago, I bought it new. I've found that it cuts thin stuff (under .100") pretty well. It's doesn't cut thicker material as well as I had hoped. I thought about keeping it, because it will come in handy for thin material, but I just won't use it very often. I might get a 220V plasma cutter someday, which would make this one obsolete anyhow. I paid $880 for it, and told him I'd sell it to him for $700. I've only used it three times, so it's like new. I'm going to put the money towards a KMG.
