Week-end Post, What Are You Doing

Well, the dendrite patterns look decent (oddly regular though, I've not seen them form in a grid like that before) and the spark in the pic looks pretty good too. You mentioned to me earlier that you got to a full liquid state so I'm guessing it'll be pretty homogeneous. Looks good from here! :)

Wondering if I've made a nice button of steel or a silly paper weight!!!

Raining tomorrow, might have to wait a day or 2 as the powerhammer is outside.....

Much energy will be expended deciding this.

What a pain! It better show some pattern when done!!

Today, I am going to try to make up some fresh smoked horseradish sauce and grind up some chuck steak for burgers tomorrow. Tomorrow I have Gary, Toeburner and Ron coming over. Gary and I will be making up some twisted wrought iron billets. :DI will be putting some up for sale. ;)Sunday I have my new tenants moving in.

Sounds like a plan. I got the smoking as we speak. I ordered some roots to plant this year too.

I going to make a BBQ sauce with my HT'g relish and smoked horseradish sauce.:eek::eek: You just apply the BBQ sauce to the meat and it cooks itself. HEHEHEHEHEHE!!!!

I'll be spending my weekend in my shop, mostly cleaning, and hopefully getting some forging and stuff in. Any of you all who I've invited over to my shop, or even people who i haven't, if you're in the metro-west area of mass / northern RI, fire me off a message and we can get together and hammer some stuff out at the forge and whatnot.

That'd give me an excuse to push everything else to the side of the shop, clear out the middle, and get some forge time done =)

Justin, shouldn't you be building a nice, new workbench for that KMG? :)

I built a new workbench, made a stand and set up my new portaband saw. Moved some other "messy" tools over onto the new bench; drill press, wood bandsaw, 1x30 grinder and chop saw. Did a general clean up and organizing.

I plan on finishing some sheaths, making a batch of SFCs using my new portaband :) Lot faster than grinding them from barstock.

Just working on two knives here in the shop. And just got my Blade book in and saw one of my knives in there. It was a great feeling to it. Hope for many more. Also, been working out in the yard as well. I got to get the BBQ going for long. But the weather man said it going to snow here later in the week. Hope you all's week-end is looking up as well.

Terry

Today I HT'ed a knife, and tonight the epoxy is setting for the handles. Tomorrow, I'll polish it up and post pictures in the Q&A. Hopefully tomorrow, I'll be getting some firebrick from my friend, so I can build a forge.

Terry, I saw the article in Blade. Great for you, I do hope you get more magazine exposure.

Wa..Wa..Wally yum yum horseradish sauce, uummm, yum yum. As always the food you make is most excellent, and usually very very hot and smokey :D

Today (Sat. the 4th of May) I've got to remove the snow thrower off my yard tractor and prepare it for a belt replacement, get it ready to repair some of the steel that has rotted through over the last 15 years of use. I've also got to get my bike ready for the upcoming riding season.

I'll be sanding on a 8" Bowie fit the guard and get the handle ready for mounting.

Tomorrow, I'll take my bride for a ride on the cycle, as the weather around here is supposed to be sunny and in the 60's, it's about time

Bah didn't you see elsewhere, I got a nice workbench for the KMG done already =)

Had the thing set up on the bench within hours of getting it =P

Didn't you know that I only read newbie posts so that I can thrash them publicly to make myself feel better? Remember I'm not only a member of the Arrogant Knifemaker's Association, I'm the founder!

Recovering from a bout of the flu... kinda messed with my plans. However, I did get an order last night... "here's my budget, make me whatever you want." How cool is that?

Now I just gotta get my head around how to do this goofy Becker rehandle project that's due VERY soon... anyone got any experience hand-fitting a recess for a hex nut?!? I'm thinking a little carbide tip on the Dremel and a small chisel to clean up the sides might do it.

Yeah, I've been listening to DAC for decades, he's one of the last of a dying breed. I'm really looking forward to it. On our first date I sang some of his stuff to my girlfriend and she said my voice sealed the deal on us going out. :D Sappy, ain't it? :o
