What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Two great knives above, guys.
I love to see Old Timers getting toted and posted.😎

Nice find. Beautiful scales.
I can relate to needing a little magnification help sometimes. 🫤

You never know what can happen when you’re asleep, Ed. Awhile ago, I was having a wild dream, and lashed out with a solid right hook. No blood, but Mrs. Fleschwund was a bit surprised.
I "liked" this, but...

...deserves a eeksmaller.jpg for the act, and a 🤣, for the telling.

Another one from Stan Buzek for this evening's walk with the dogs. Love the jigging on this one...

And, here's this evening's visitor...

Great pair FC. Hope things pick up for you soon.
Thanks Bart, but it's the way it is - my job is seasonal so I gotta make hay now, don't want to go all winter hungry. Speaking of, your cows are looking mighty fine, I'd love to have one in my freezer. You trade for fixed blades? Glad to hear your boy's wrist ought to heal up. It would be cooler if he'd done it skating though.
Well Fred, I think a day off to go fishing would help. 😎
Fine looking pair ~ love the little belt knife.
Jeff, I sure appreciate that sentiment and there's nothing my boy would love more. Luckily we won't have to worry about cleaning/cooking the fish because I never catch any. I do love a little belt knife - half the time I need a knife I'm holding something in my other hand already so the easy access is nice. Your beans are looking mighty fine, I do think the red veins are quite attractive. Do those taste different than the solid greens, or is this just bean vanity?

Happy WW Porch! This 38 is a joy in the pocket, and easy on the eyes. Did you guys know I'm obsessed with weight, and know the weight of all my knives? 2.1 oz for the 38 and 2.3 for the Fox River Featherweight.

The Ganzo was a gift, so I don't know much about it. I went to a Ganzo website this morning and didn't see any traditional patterns among their current offerings. But if you google "Ganzo stockman", you'll find some knives that look like the one I posted. On the other hand, I googled "Ganzo trapper", "Ganzo canoe", and "Ganzo whittler" and found no examples of those patterns.

Thanks for the compliment on the Buck 373. When I first got re-interested in traditional knives back in 2014, I decided to go to Walmart to look at knives. That's when I started to discover how rare traditional patterns are in brick-and-mortar stores. All I found at Walmart that day was a clamshell card hanging there containing a Buck Trio (the 373) and a Buck Solo (don't remember the number of that little single-bladed Buck - maybe 379?) in amber jigged bone.

I have another 373 that wasn't posted in my comparison photo I posted this morning. It was the last knife my father-in-law carried before he passed away. Wish I could sharpen as well as he could!

Nice! Those Buck 37x series are underrated. I have a couple 371's that come along for family adventures when I'm hanging out with my in-laws. They sharpen well, and have pretty decent fit/finish. And they're dead cheap at my local World o' Wally. I've never seen a 373 in the store, though. It's a great size! The 303 is definitely my favorite knife.
