What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks, Rick. Don picked some very nice stag for this knife and I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. And as good as it looks, it feels just as good in the hand.:cool:

(The steel is Don's forged W2 at about 60 Rc.)

Thanks, hunterfisher!. :)

Today..

Thats a fine lookin HJ Anthony. The blades lead me to believe it has many stories to tell. While the scales and bolsters look to be in very nice condition
Is that one a recent addition ?

Mike is right, it sure is a fine lookin harness jack Anthony.

Here is what I carried when I went into town for coffee today:

Had a good talk with a fine older gent about what he called his childhood and I called the good old times.

Afterwards I was working in the yard fixing up the fence, and talking care of the lawn chairs:

I've been carrying this little gem for a while, and I'm totally smitten. I've posted this image elsewhere, but it bears repeating.

What a great user!

It certainly is! Amber Bone is a very fine option from CASE and today it was 2 knives(folding) CASE Large Stockman in Amber Bone CV for some outdoor tasks/pruning and a CASE Small Saddlehorn in Bonestag 6.5 stainless for slicing fruit, cheese and salami. Fixed blade was a Bark River Lil Canadian which saw no use...slippies rule:thumbup:

I'm a big fan of that trapper Blues. How's the W-2 blade holding up? I figured it would show some stains by now.

Those are images from when I got the knife. Not in the habit of rephotographing. (Just lazy I guess.)

Hi,

Due to wearing a cast on my right leg I haven't been able to carry a knife for weeks! I only have one pair of sweatpants with pockets.

But I got to go out this evening while wearing my only sweats with pockets. So I was able to put a little brass Camillus Peanut in my pocket. It ain't fancy or rare. But man, it sure felt good!

Hope you're back to regular pants soon.

Today, and for a while I think, I'll be carrying the Case CV trapper in yellow delrin I picked up today. I wish it was a tad smaller, but it has shrunk a little since I first got it. She's not perfect like a custom would be, but she's still very nice, and I love the look of patina'd CV with the yellow delrin. Trapper blade shapes aren't too bad, either.

You always have great pics Peter. Is that leather handled knife an old Western ?

Case Texas Jack(CV/Amber Stag) w/pinched bolsters

I've never seen any of the Amber knives with pinched bolsters

Stockman 242, I have notised you have good screwdrivers and pliers too.

As for me taday I carry my Queen #9 as some posting here about stockmans made me want to carry it. Im still bothered about the D2 not geting sharp enough to satisfy me 100%. Its sharp since I worked the edges to what I wanted but it wont sharpen up good. Yes it can shawe but not with the easyness of my case cv or spyderco VG for instance.
I also carry my case medium stockman with I did every day last 1/2 year since I got it.

Thanks Mike, thanks Bosse.

Yeah, thats a Western made BSA sheath knife, probably from the 60's. BSA Model No. 1381, 4" blade 7.75" overall.

Today I went for this Schrade, haven't carried it for quite some time.

No? My Small Texas in Amber has them and just looking at my CASE Large Stockman in Amber, that's got them too.

black mamba: The Queen Teardop is always an outstanding choice:thumbup:
