Fine knives and photos, Fred.
Once again, I will compliment that top fixed blade.
Why thank you Jeff 😁 I do spoil myself, as somebody's got to do it.
Hope your Munday fares better than that pumpkin 🤢. Love the TL, as ever. It's still one of the most useful (for vainglorious endeavours) traditional patterns I've tried, you're doing good work extolling it's virtues and spreading the lineman's gospel. Grandpa was a lineman for Ma' Bell, he left with some really nice tools, will try'n remember to pose the TL you so kindly gifted me on them soon.

Great looking Barlow !
Thanks Steve :)
Gray area. You just gotta be quick: "Has anyone seen my trowel?" 🤔🤷‍♂️
Polish friends have told me it's fine to carry an axe, even in the city, you just say you're lending it to someone, or are on your way to chop wood :)
Going with the Esquire today…

That's beautiful Jim, nice pic
SAK of the Week isn't a Swiss Army Knife, but it is made by Victorinox. It's a serrated stainless paring knife, one of the few fixed blade knives I have (and most are paring knives, as shown in second photo).

Had a rafter of turkeys in the yard this morning.
Carrying my Joel Chamblin WT for Monday.

Sweet pairing Steve :)
I like that phrase, Jack! 🤓:thumbsup:
Instead of referring to "Chinese Schrade" knives, I'll try to start using "Oriental Schrade" for a more mystical aura! ;)
Thank you! :D One of the chocolate companies here used to produce a sickly sweet, chocolate-covered version of Turkish delight, which they sold as "Full of Eastern Promise!" 🤣 (A broken promise in my opinion! 🙄 )

I bought one of those and am so glad to have it!:cool::thumbsup:

The Turkish delight video made me think of this xkcd about it. (For many Americans, I think our only reference to Turkish delight, for a long time, was The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.)

A partly cloudy start to the day here in the City by the Bay! Chance for scattered showers but it looks like we may be drying out for the next few days. Keeping me company with a nod to Metal Monday the usual lamb and Mr. Peanut. Have a great week folks! 😀View attachment 2484083View attachment 2484084
Sorry ... Gotta ask ... "...49'ers Fandom" picture on front page(?) of today's "news" paper ...
Did the paper recycle an old photo (and possibly that and other) articals?

The people are dressed in late '70's clothes and hare doooooo's
NONE of the cars visible in the photo are post c.1981. Most look to be 1960's ~ 1970's rides. The "newest" is the early Oldsmobile (88? mebby 98) behind th guy with plaid flannel shirt and his co-horts on the right.

Is dressing retro and driving old iorn a "thing" in SF these days?

TBH there isn't much "new" in the "news" over the last few years ... seems "history" is stuck inna rut ... so it's understandable if the paper (and TV) news save money by re-printing/re-running some of the (old when run a few years ago) "news" now, as current ... 🙄

That G. Butler is dynamite!!

Thanks !

Thanks Steve :)

Steve, the pic was taken in 1980. The article is about how 49er fans have celebrated over the past years.
