What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Nice Dick Tracy gun!

I don’t keep chiknz because of my dog, but a lot of people on my gardening forums do…
What kind of bedding are you using in the coop? I’ve heard of molds and fungi in their bedding causing strange illnesses.
The good news is that cleaning it out gives you some great compost!😁

For your sake I hope there are plenty of sleeveboards at this year’s Blade Show.

Fine knives and photos, Fred.
Once again, I will compliment that top fixed blade.

That particular video is really early when they were young enough to get away with mullets.

Yeah. And luckily for me, hope overrides actually catching something😀
I don’t think I’ve ever kept a smallmouth out of my favorite creeks and rivers, but catfish come home with me.

Kind of a Holy Grail Colt!

Speaking of Holy Grails…
No bedding, the roost on branches and a platform. The only thing I can suspect is worms, but I do worm them.

Ha! I've eaten my fair share of "salt n peppa" catfish. Once I started trout fishing, my views of freshwater fish changed drastically. Not sure I'd eat bass, but I've always wanted to try walleye for some reason. 🤷‍♂️

I have eaten walleye, large and small mouth bass. All of which I like. However, catfish are another story. The farm raised ones are not worth the cornmeal it takes to cover one. Now one about 12-16" long from a river, is a whole different story. The meat is firm where as farmed raised is like handling wet newspaper to me. Over all, I prefer river crappie for table fare.
Dang now I want some good friend fish

Always appreciated my friend GT !!!☺️

More knives on rocks, carrying some custom traditional knives today. I acquired these from a local East TN, maker Scott Herron. He does nice work, on top is small 3.5" stag trapper, next is a small carbon steel 3.25" blade bird and trout pattern that I particularly like to carry, at the bottom is a larger 5.5" single edge carbon steel spearpoint.

Been busy moving our daughter this weekend, and I’m feeling it! Furniture must be heavier these days…or maybe I’m just getting old! 🤣On our way home, got this one again. View attachment 2484188
Hope you're feeling better in a day or two buddy :) Nice to see a Boker Barlow :D ;)

My granddad was out of work in the 1920's, and had eaten just about every fish (and animal) we have here, including ones that are generally considered inedible by polite folks

Definitely the furniture…definitely.
Craggy Staggy today. Just one knife again today. Don’t worry, I’ll be back to the more logical process of carrying two similarly sized pocket knives tomorrow.

Mind blowing stag there, Jon.

Polite = rich?
One does what one has to do to feed a family and his(her)self.
My grandparents were born in 1903 and 1906 and the only parts of the farm raised pigs and cows not used were the squeal and moo.

My dad has told me a good many stories of his growing up with my grandpa on their farm back in Wisconsin when he was young. He said they used everything "From the snoot to the poot"...

Here's a related pic of my mom's side of the family from way back in the late 1800's - early 1900's. I believe that's my great-great grandmother by the porch.

Edit to add: The house was built in 1888 & the pic was taken in 1919.
