Jack & Tom & Dan & Ron, thanks for the kind words/puns

about the photo of my Buck toothpick. That's an old pic taken on vacation last summer at the Lower Falls on the Tahquamenon River in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Looking forward to heading up to that area again in less then 2 months!
I forgot I gave you that Muskrat Gary glad to see your still carrying it.

The more I use that knife, Randy, the more I like it!

When you went in for surgery, I decided to keep one of the knives you've given me close at hand as a reminder to keep you in mind. So I've had that muskrat on the kitchen counter since then (finally put it away this morning). I decided to try to freshen up the edge on the unglazed lip of the lid of a ceramic candy bowl in the kitchen, and was surprised at how laser-sharp it got!

And once sharpened, I noticed what a wonderful slicer it was, I think because of the narrow profile (edge to spine) of the muskrat clip. I've never thought that muskrat clips were very visually appealing compared to a broader clip blade, but I think the muskrat clip is a superior slicer because the narrow blade is less likely to "bind up" in whatever is being cut. Anyway, I definitely have a new appreciation for muskrat clips in general, and for that muskrat knife in particular!

Couple of sparkling spearpoint smooth bone examples, Harry!!

Thanks. My friends hardly roll their eyes at me anymore when I take knife pics in restaurants. It's not like I'm taking
duck-lipped selfies at scenic views. That would be silly.
I, too, thought duck-lipped selfies were silly, since I have little use for "fads" that have no rationale. But while Skypeing with my daughter in Spain yesterday, I asked her why everyone did such a silly thing, and she demonstrated how that pose "accentuates and improves" one's cheekbones!

So I guess I'm OK with it after all, since there's a good reason for doing it!
This one again today.

Experimenting with a home-made light tent today.
Haven't had my Primble out in a while.
Tom, I think the experiment is successful; both photos look great to me!

You're turning into quite the knife scientist lately, with your trial of a new sharpening method and your light tent experiment!

Can we expect to see a photo of the light tent, or is that too self-referential??

What are the pros and cons of your light set-up as you currently see them?
Alan, I've been teaching mathematics for almost 45 years, and I checked your calculations. Looks good to me!
I'm really enjoying your recent lambsfoot and pen knife series, Jack!!

Started this morning by loading up my pockets with the knives designated for carry this week.
