What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Nice fixed blade. Care to elaborate on the specs?
Alloy, craftsman?
Thanks, its one of my selfmade ones. O2 steel, 19.5 cm( 7.677 inch) overall, blade 9.2 cm (3.622 inch), sharpened 8 cm( 3.149 inch), stock is 0.3 cm (0.118 inch) thick. Just building them for fun that means for myself or as a gift to friends, no commercial interests at all. This one I build because I wanted a smaller one. I don´t want co carry a 12 cm (4 3/4 inch) blade just for collecting mushrooms, so I build this one.

My new (as of yesterday) smooth bone #78. Put my edge on it and will be in pocket for the remainder of the week at least.

We hit our high for the day so just about to head out and walk Mocha our Brown Australian Shepherd. I swear she's part Husky:thumbsup: yesterday's high was to reach 0° but it peaked at -9°

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! It has been most enjoyable getting caught up here after being away for a few days.

The stars aligned, the gods smiled upon me, or circumstances were simply just perfect, but I was able to acquire a knife that has been on my short list ever since they were produced earlier this year. It arrived yesterday and made my Boxing Day all that much more enjoyable! Into the pocket it went.

Apologies for my poor office lighting but it is pouring down rain right now, perhaps it will let up enough to get better pictures later on.

Smashing in black!! Very classy office knife indeed !

I loved this knife, I carried it constantly. It's a slender sexy blade that just melts into your hand in any grip. Called the Buck 107 aka, Bird & Trout and as the Scout Knife. It's been quite sometime since I carried this as an EDC. I think I'll start throwin' on my belt again before I head out for the day. It's light and you barely know you have it on you. I should look into a custom or production horizontal mount or a back pocket sheath like the AG Russell Wood's Walker with the flat back pocket sheath that's available.

I went to shoot you a message, but I couldn't view your profile.

Fantastic work.
I love the low heel and subtle drop point with plenty belly.

This blade shape has been in my mind for awhile, and the closest I have found commercially is a Busse Vex. Looks like I might have to make my own...
I hope you don't mind being someone's inspiration.

I would be honored to be such an inspiration: feel free to use it this way or modify it the way you need it. Just a short tip, because I don´t know, if you´re used to knifemaking: first make a wooden model to prove how it fits in your hand. It´s easier to change the sketches than the steel blade ;-)

I have made a few knives, and I mod knives regularly. I often pattern in wood first. I find the thicker (1/4") paint stirrers to be plentiful, easy and fast to shape.

Thank you for the go ahead. I have a little leather work on my plate atm, but this will be soon enough.

Have fun! I'll search, if I find a scaled sketch, I'll post it or sent a message, if it's possible

I was in a duck blind a good part of today and had a Grohmann D.H. Russell No. 2 Trout and Bird knife with me (plus an Imperial Barlow in the pocket fro cigar trimming). After about an hour in the blind, I got a very hefty Canadian goose to go with the Canadian belt knife. Things slowed down after the goose gathering, but it still was a great day to be out. Ducks were flying all day, just not near us. We even saw some swans, which we don't hunt.
