What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

...
Funny how this one is perfect when I'm carrying it, the half whittler is perfect when I'm carrying it, and the 305 lancer is also perfect when I carry it yet all 3 are different sizes.
I'm sort of the same way. ;):thumbsup: I like almost any of my knives much better when I'm carrying and using it than I do when it just sits in a box.

I like the "burnished bone" look of both those knives, Steve!:cool::thumbsup:
(Not very fond of the approaching winter look of the encroaching snow.:rolleyes:)

I bought some duluth cargo pants, which have tons of great pockets, and I’m really trying to be conservative on how many knives I fill them with.

5K Qs 5K Qs ~ thank you for the kind comment on my mod, my friend.

Regarding the poor acoustics in your class, I’ll bet masks don’t help either.
Lotsa people mumbling under masks these days.
The masks certainly don't help.
(And a strange mask-related phenomenon. There were 6 students unable to attend class for the second test of the semester because of quarantine, so I set things up so they could take it online at the same time as the rest of the class. I had them sign in to an online "meeting" so I could keep an eye on them via computer as they took the test. While they worked on it, I thought that something seemed odd, and finally at supper that night, I realized that none of the online students were wearing masks and I was seeing their noses and mouths for the first time, and their actual appearances didn't match the mental pictures I had apparently created for what everyone looked like under their masks!)

That sounds very frustrating, GT.
Here's hoping 2021 will be a much better year for teachers.
...
Amen to that! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Hope everyone has survived another week in one piece  Carrying an Old Friend and a New Friend today - my 2017 Guardians Lambsfoot, and a Nicholas Nichols Pocket Cleaver, which I received from my friend @Reaper AL late yesterday afternoon :)

Thanks for your opinion on the layout of a clip/sheepsfoot blade combo, Dean. :)

Thank you, Gary. You are carrying a handsome group of pocket cutlery!:thumbsup:

I might just leave this in my pocket until Christmas.

Are you retired? Us retired guys can get away with wearing the same pants that long.
I really admire your rescues, Jeff!:cool::cool: Today, the Kutmaster caught my attention, with its creative blade reprofiling. Do you have a belt grinder you use for that, or use just a file, or
what?

- GT
Thanks, Gary! I have a bench grinder, as well as a combination 8” disc/1”x36” belt sander, yes. More importantly, I have a piece of flat marble for a sandpaper backer.
Power tools will ruin a blade super fast.
The disc/belt sander gets used more in schaping (you know I like Schrades) handle scales ~ getting them flat and sized, and later, after pinning, final shaping.
I mean schaping.

This may not be the place where this should be posted , but since it is one of the Highest Viewed threads there is , this is where I am going to post it and this will be tough for me to do .
Today I lost a very good friend to me and a good friend to many of you . His wife has asked to let you all know that @Half/Stop Ron passed away . He had open heart surgery for a Torn Aorta about 3 weeks ago and was back at home for about 2 weeks . He collapsed this afternoon and was rushed to the hospital but was not strong enough to survive . I know some of you asked about him , but he did not want it to be known as to why he wasn't on the Forums . At one point , it appeared that he was Okay a couple of weeks ago , but that eventually changed . I know for a fact that I will miss him and his phone calls .
When Ron was young and running a Paper Route he would go down to the local hardware store and buy a knife on lay-away . So you know he had been collecting for a few years . He was 66 years old . In the Louis Lamour books about the Sacketts , they talked about " A Guy Good Enough To Ride The River With " . I would have " rode the river " with Ron .

Harry
So very Sorry to hear and I am beyond words.
May he Rest In Peace he will be missed :(
