What was the spyderco that got you hooked?

Spyderco Bug for some weird reason. Started as a joke, as I bought one for me and my mate. But it held up so good for it size, so it made me look into other spyderco's.

Got a Rescue with full serrations back in the mid 90s and used it for years until it grew legs one day. Then I started messing with other one-handed folders for a while, and got side tracked for about a decade. What brought me back is the Stretch. I've probably bought and mostly given away close to 20 other knives, including other Spyderco knives, since I got my first Stretch. Some of those have made it into daily rotation for a while each, but I keep coming back to one of my Stretches. Now there are three of them: VG10, zdp-189, and SB with a forced patina.

Unfortunately, in the last few weeks I managed to hold in my hands and Manix 2 LW, and the XL with DLC coating...I may end up with a couple of those as well. Now if only we could get a Manix action with a Stretch blade.

I like my Delica but I'm not "hooked on Spydercos," so probably I shouldn't post in this thread.

Too late. ;) :D

I know I'm hooked but there are times when I get a new one and it totally reinforces my addiction with quality that astounds.
Vallotton subhilt D/A automatic.
Got it Friday and it is the best built Spydie (IMO) I've seen. Not cheap by any means so it should be nice but this one takes it to another level.

Caspian, I saw H-1 steel reviews after being disappointed with my NRS Pilot and saw the Caspian. Unfortunately I was 2 years too late, so I scoward the interwebs until a small knife shop in Penn. took my card over the phone and sent it to me. After that it was all down hill! I only own Spyderco salts, I would like to branch out, but haven't yet.

the endura4 is the one that convinced me to like spyderco. never really cared for them before, but I figured if I started to like a knife that had 2 features I didn't care for (lock back and no thumb stud) it must be a pretty good knife. I think the next spyderco I purchase may be a manix2.

FFG Vg-10 FRN Delica. my japanese spydeys are now mostly in zdp but i feel i should get another vg-10 deli. the delica is one of spyderco's best designs. i realize that now. it's up there as a classic along with the case texas jack, the randall #1, and the buck 110 ("Say fella, what's with hole on the hilt and that strip of steel running down the handle?")

Mine was a combo edge spyderco delica in zdp-189. I wish i had it still.

My first was a Lightweight Native, but the clincher was my first Manix 2. It's been all downhill since.

Spyderco tenacious is what got me started, and 4 months later my spyderco collection looks like this.....

Im addicted...

A stainless steel fully serrated Endura started it but my Sage 1 was really the one that set the hook.

I wanted a gents knife and somebody advise to check Kopa Cocobolo. I liked it and bought it. Than I find out about Spyderco's intention of making more than dozen variants with various scales, which sounded like a good idea for great looking collection at that time. Instead of running away I found Spyderco forum.

The Dragonfly H1 was my first Spyderco, but it was too small in my hand. It was just enough to get me to look at some other spydies and the Manix 2 LW translucent blue did the act of getting me hooked. I think a Sage 3 or maybe a Domino may be next on the list.
