yep so right. got one in my pocket right now..nothing hidden....In fact, Spyderco makes knives in China, and you know what he does? Yep, as I already said, he marks them "China" right there on the blade. No hiding, no shame, no trying to obfuscate where that particular product comes from. Crazy, amirite?
Yep, and by all accounts they're good knives for the money. But you also aren't going to be charged what a Taiwan or Golden Spydie costs, because an inexpensive way to put Spyderco knives in peoples hands was his goal, which he's always been clear about.
Is that right? Because that's not what Whitty said. Whitty said he ASSUMED the knives were made in the US because of what he heard on podcasts and Youtube.Hoback asked Whitty to sell his knives at USA Made Blade, a store that only sells knives made in the USA. In doing so, he lied to Whitty and represented all his knives as made in the USA, when they are clearly not, by his own admission. That is the definition of deceit (or a lie, if your vocabulary only includes three letter words).
Is that right? Because that's not what Whitty said. Whitty said he ASSUMED the knives were made in the US because of what he heard on podcasts and Youtube.
He approached USA made blade. To sell his knives. Even though who knows how many are made in China and elsewhere. Is that right? Because that's not what Whitty said. Whitty said he ASSUMED the knives were made in the US because of what he heard on podcasts and Youtube.
Yep, that's Spyderco's choice. In contrast, Hoback doesn't make any claim about COA at all. His boxes DO NOT SAY MADE IN THE USA.spyderco labels them as made overseas...hoback didnt........see the big difference....someone already posted spyderco boxes showing labeled where each knife was made .....
Well, if your whole business is premised on selling only 100% USA made blades, I would think the least you could do would be to ASK the maker if the blades are 100% USA made. Duh.whitty I believe this gent believes you to be at fault over Blowback's inability to be truthful.
Are you sure they didn't approach him?He approached USA made blade. To sell his knives. Even though who knows how many are made in China and elsewhere.
USA made blade. Repeat that 3 times.

Jake, let me ask you this; why let dealers sell your made in China and elsewhere knives as made in America even though you knew that's not true. Where's your integrity?Well, if your whole business is premised on selling only 100% USA made blades, I would think the least you could do would be to ASK the maker if the blades are 100% USA made. Duh.
That's unreasonable. No manufacturer is going to publish the COA of all of their components. I sell tools and many of them are made in Taiwan or China or say Made in USA with foreign components. My customers usually don't care as long as the quality is there which it is.This could be easily quelled by simply saying what he out sources, but instead it's a secret. If someone claims to actually "make" knives, it should be an easy answer on what part you don't make. For all we know he assembles them. Doesn't even make them.
As soon as you're right about something I'll be the first to pat you on the back.Blowback has been making and selling knives for several years (or longer). I realize that you aren't going to admit that any of us are right, so I'm just going to keep destroying your bad logic. Tell me, all those years....dude still wasn't able to get around to correcting all the dealers, and all the knife blogs, forums, and webpages all proudly proclaiming in glowing praise that his knives are made here? Just didn't get around to it? Didn't have time? Too busy?
LOL Total clownshoes.

Unreasonable? 99% of other knife companies do this just fine. UnreasonableThat's unreasonable. No manufacturer is going to publish the COA of all of their components. cause they want the customer to know what theyre getting and from where. spyderco is a good company and thats what good companies do.Yep, that's Spyderco's choice. In contrast, Hoback doesn't make any claim about COA at all. His boxes DO NOT SAY MADE IN THE USA.
