When it's not exactly Made in the USA - Hoback

Of course not! Your logic is much better.. let the dealers write whatever they want, and if Hoback doesn’t patrol the net to screen for inaccuracies, blame Hoback for “lying”. That approach is way more logical. 🙄
Yeah, I blame Kizer because BladeHQ said that Kizer's Sheepdog runs on washers when it runs on bearings. I blame Demko because BladeHQ misstated the length of the blade on the Demko 20.5. Etc., etc.

Not quite no evidence, 3D Anvil 3D Anvil

That other maker I referred to earlier, that is no longer a member here, used to remove, (buff out), the "China" mark on the blades he imported from Guangdong, before selling them as his own handmade customs. And yes, Customs would seize such goods without the proper mark. Others would remove adhesive labels after receipt, to disguise origin.

When I worked as a special agent in Miami I was called in by inspectors who had seized container loads of Chinese goods, (knives, including switchblades), which were in contravention of customs regulations.

(Not a matter for the unit I worked within, but as a knife guy, they called me down for consultation. The "fraud" group handled those sorts of cases.)

Hoback admitted that (at least some of his) knives were manufactured overseas. Why would they not be marked as such? Don't tell me that's just another simple oversight?

They’re just looking for an excuse to burn Hoback. Can’t reason with people that made up their minds before their first comment.

Huh.

I count 28 authorized dealers here. I wonder how long it takes to make 28 phone calls? 🤔

Ahhhhh, forget it. It'd probably take years.

God, the absolute absurdity of this argument we're in is mind-boggling.

Interesting, I've never seen a blade from him marked from overseas. I've owned a few and handled a bunch. As a matter of fact if he didn't admit to it today I don't think anyone would have known. He's skirting the law somehow.

How about have some damn integrity as a man and make sure your knives are correctly labeled as to country of origin and properly represented online... you know what integrity is right? Or na?
I was just checking some of my knives that I know are made in China. The Quiet Carry Drift does not say it's made in China. The Pena Zulu does not say it's made in China. The Giant Mouse Riv does not say it's made in China. The WE Esprit does not say it's made in China. None of them are marked with any COA. Ditto for Kizer and Sharp by Design.

No, that’s not all you and the team have stated. Your argument is that the responsibility is on Hoback to hound these people until they change everything on their sites to be 100% accurate… meaning if Hoback makes the call and they don’t change it, you’re still burning Hoback at the stake. Real solid logic there.

Don’t be a jerk. I’m not supporting Hogback, I’m only saying that no one lists COO for every component.

With all due respect, no one is arguing about where components are from. The issue at hand here is that Hoback admitted today in a video he posted on his Instagram that he has batches of his knives made "overseas" and that he sends these batches of knives, along with batches of the SAME KNIFE made in his shop here in the US to dealers without any marking to differentiate them. Entire knives. The origin of components isn't at issue here.

Yes it does, for government procurement purposes. Is it not “made in America” if the government says 50.1% is the standard for them? Better let them know that the “Buy America” act needs an overhaul to reflect your new standard.
You mean this post?
No response to my counter to your post calling me incorrect? You know, the one where I literally took a screenshot of FTC info.
Maybe I'm having technical issues, but I don't see any screenshot. The link I provided was to the FTC standards.

What does that have to do with integrity of Jake hoebak? Others don't have integrity so he shouldn't either?🤯

Is it correct or incorrect that “greater than 50%” is the standard for government procurement and “buy American” act… yes or no? It’s a simple question.

Do the big dealers list any of those knives as being made in the US?

:D
