Why didn't he take to social media with the truth?Other people being the retailers who made up a country of origin based off of hair-brained assumptions and in no way based on anything Hoback told them.
Like I said, every retailer didn't lie about the COA. Some of them did, and now they're piling on Hoback because THEY effed up and he didn't try hard enough to unf*ck their mistake. So, now it looks like Anvil was in the room when Jake made those deals with those 28 dealers, to hear him speak of it. Knife dealers who for some reason never asked where these knives were made, they just said "Hey, this dude seems like a good guy, see the Bible quote on his knives? Oh yeah, these are made in American fer sher, let's run with it."
Maybe a dealer or two, but all the dealers out there?! LMAO
So dumb.
think that wait is never gonna end......Still waiting...
Why didn't he post on social media the truth so as to be honest with customers?Like I said, every retailer didn't lie about the COA. Some of them did, and now they're piling on Hoback because THEY effed up and he didn't try hard enough to unf*ck their mistake.
For...?Still waiting...
Well, I think it's safe to say that the vendors would have told us that Hoback TOLD THEM that his knives were made in the USA. They haven't made that claim. What they've said is that they ASSUMED the knives were made in the USA.
Years later, when he knew he was caught out and better come clean. And of course the video appears to have been taken down. Real transparent. He just posted the truth on social media.
I hope you aren't holding your breath on that one...Still...
...waiting.
He just posted the truth on social media. Why didn't he post on social media the truth so as to be honest with customers?
For you to answer whether or not you were a party to the conversations instead of relaying hearsay. Are you a witness that can corroborate what was or wasn't said?For...?

5 years later, after refusing to post the information? What do you say about him refusing to tell the truth? He just posted the truth on social media.
Why didn't the retailers make the change when he asked them to? Why don't you blame them for that, at minimum?

Oh, you didn't read my previous post? I said I think we can assume that the dealers would have told us that they were lied to if they were lied to, since they have no problem jumping on Hoback over their mistake. I was not in the room, obviously. Nor were you or Quiet. For you to answer whether or not you were a party to the conversations instead of relaying hearsay. At this point you're using hearsay to support your stance.Other people being the retailers who made up a country of origin based off of hair-brained assumptions and in no way based on anything Hoback told them.
Absolutely the first dealer(s) were at fault, if that's what happened. But then he admitted in a video that he let the misinformation build and spread and did not say anything for fear of repercussions. This is really not a hard concept to understand. Honest question, how often do you win cases in court? He just posted the truth on social media.

Sorry, but repeating the same inanity ad nauseum doesn't make it true. Hoback never made ANY representation about the COA of his knives. The dealers did that. He apparently tried to straighten at least one of them out and they didn't make the change. He admits he should have tried harder. The End.3D Anvil and
King of the Cheese are amazing, stupendous trolls. Continuing with what
Blues and
shinyedges have others have said earlier... Being purposely obtuse for the sake of generating more argument doesn't really read as being "constructive" in the slightest...
The long and short of this whole thing, regardless on who you choose to lay the blame, is that Hoback clearly and purposely mislead his customers (you could also read that as "Hoback allowed his customers and dealers to believe all his product was made in the US") as to the true country of origin for his product. That is not up for debate, as Jake himself admits exactly that. His dealers ran with the information they believed to be correct.
The issue is that he lied, either directly or by omission. Anything else that people take issue with, such as the exact timing with which this all happened, is just window dressing.
In my mind, there IS a shared responsibility between manufacturer and dealer to be upfront and honest about such information. Generally I'd say it's sufficient for a dealer to take the word of the manufacturer when it comes to country of origin, but at the very least inspecting the product's packaging and website listing would be very easy and appropriate steps to take for ANY online dealer.
