When it's not exactly Made in the USA - Hoback

You know what else Hoback can do?

Shop tour time!!!

Let's see it.
I watched his recent video, 1 tormach amateur ass cnc machine that sucks and he bought a horizontal that I'm not familiar with, that's it. No where near the capacity to pump out knives at any reasonable rate. He just got the horizontal not long ago. Which means he's had 1 crappy tormach for years. I doubt he makes 25% of his stuff. Probably more like 5%.

Are you thinking there might be something under that Hoback box label?
I think he might be talking about the light-coloured smudge in the corner. Almost looks like something was there before and has been removed. I guess the implication is Hoback's removing "made in China" stickers off his boxes? I have no idea whether that's true or not but I think that's what he's hinting at.

Wow… just, wow. The conspiracy theories get wilder.

Do you think that the Phantom Stickerer and the Phantom Unstickerer are allies or mortal enemies?

Wow is 5 years of selling knives as made in the USA with 1 tormach. 1 tormach. Are you kidding me. He can't make hundreds or thousands of knives. It's impossible. I know for a fact. Other companies are doing it. He doesn't have the machines to make them. He's a liar. Just like his defenders.

I know at least 1 other machinist programmer posted in this thread. And he said the same thing. No way hoback is making that many knives. It's physically impossible. He's outsourcing almost every thing and every knife. Watch his latest shop update.

Let's hear the non machinist defend that.

I can't get this image of Para at the keyboard out of my head...

At least he has light...

Exactly, a total qtrmstr move!

Many people, myself included, will pay more for American made (or German, Japan, etc… made). Makers of all sorts of products know this. It’s as much a feature to some as the blade steel. To be disingenuous in portraying the origin and brand on that is a terrible thing to do. It is cowardly and wrong where I come from. For shame.

I only paid $525 for my A15 Slimline because I was under the impression it was a high-end US production/midtech. Turns out that's one of the models made wholly in China. That would be fine with me if it were advertised (and priced) as such, but not for $525, especially considering the quality I got.
