who knows? except hoback. it could also be some made in China fully, some made in America? he made mention of some made here in America some made elsewhere due to high demand and he couldn't keep up.Even the newly posted chart is misleading. He has stuff listed as "USA/China" but after this debacle I have no doubt if just one fastener was made in the USA he'd list it that way rather than "China/USA".
Hey! I resemble that remark!!...1 tormach amateur ass cnc machine that sucks ... 1 crappy tormach for years.
I've been in a few shops and watched the knives being made. I'm no expert, but not exactly a cherry. You know your court room and Leo stuff. I know machining and programming. Dude should never have showed his shop in his videos. He's a liar.
Lots of hobby people use them, nothing wrong with them per se. Just they aren't really made for the accuracy, repeatability, rigidity of the machines that shops who machine full time do. Mori, mazak, some brothers, just to name a few.Hey! I resemble that remark!!
... though I am not under any illusions that my poor 770 could pump out anything near what I'd call "massive fulltime production" on its own.
Not unless it comes out that Medford is actually made in Pakistan. It's only March and I already don't think this thread is likely to be topped.
Scary stuff indeed.
Oh, absolutely not. I've been plenty pleased with how my knives have been turning out, but I've certainly had to find out what works and what doesn't on it, and manage my expectations accordingly when designing / planning. I've yet to try milling titanium on it, but after seeing how others fare with it I find it very hard to believe that this would be the sole tool of choice for someone in Hoback's position...Lots of hobby people use them, nothing wrong with them per se. How much you want to bet these to would defend qtrmstrIt feels like we may have reached the point where it's necessary to post the QTRMSTRelite operator museum slash state-of-the-art knife factoryshed.

I got an email from Knifecenter this morning about their sale on Quartermaster. They advertise these knives as Made in USA. Since they're an Authorized Dealer certainly they must know the factory address ...www.bladeforums.com
