Which handgun is "The One" you'd never ever part with?

I can't get rid of any of them:

S&W 586 (pre-dash) .357 6" (my first handgun, my first 'new' firearm, purchased when I was just in 10th grade, great action, and accurate)

H&K USP .45 (great combat gun, a fistful of firepower, uber reliable and durable)

CZ P-01 9mm (super ergonomic, beautiful and super reliable pocket pistol)

Ruger Mk II .22 Gov't Target Model (super accurate and classy)

My next pistol is an SP101 hammerless. My friend has one and I want one.

I have 4 guns that I would never sell, They are, (Colt Lawman nickle plated in 357 magnum, my uncle left it to me when he died) My (Beretta 92 FS,) My (Grandfathers single barrel Winchester 12 guage shotgun he bought around 1920, the only gun he ever owned) and my Uncles Marlin lever action 22 model 39A he bought back in 1935 when he was in the Navy. I have other guns but those are ones ill never sell.

I love all my handguns, and they all serve a purpose. The one I'll never give up is my old S&W Chief's Special. It was my father-in-laws and was his dad's before it was his. My wife's grandpa was an IRS agent back in the 50's and 60's. As near as we can figure, this was probably the gun he was issued back when he was working out in Vegas. I bet it's been shot less than 100 times.

It's an heirloom as far as I'm concerned.

2 matched sets. My Colt Python and Anaconda, and Ruger 50th Anniversary 12 & 20 ga. shotguns.

None of them, but if forced to pick one, Walther P5.

Although I have a number of more expensive firearms including a matched set of the Colt Single Action Army, the one I'd never let go is my CZ-75B compact in 9mm. It is without a doubt the most accurate handgun I've ever owned and the quality of fit, finish and function is outstanding.

The handgun I would never part with is this one...... My FN Browning High Power which my Dad purchased new for me in 1981. I edc'd it in South Africa during some really bad political strife and it kept me safe.
I retired it from daily carry in '91 for a Glock 19 and I customized it shortly after. It now shoots military loads with hardly more felt recoil than a .22:)

I love the clean lines on that. Do they make any FN Brownings these days that look similar? Is that a 6 inch barrel you have on that one?

My original response was that it was a coin toss between my G26 and S&W 442. In re-evaluating my response I would have to say I could settle on any one of my guns and be happy with it. They are each durable and reliable, and all have individual strengths and weaknesses based on the environment they are used in, or the function they are used for. Not any one of my guns will be the best choice for every situation, but each of their strengths easily out weigh any weaknesses they may have, which would make me comfortable living with any one of them. (S&W 442, Ruger GP100, Ruger P89, Glock 26)

Don't you mean the S&W 442? Nice piece just the same.

Ruger Bisley in 45LC -- I changed out the springs, added buffalo horn grips and Bowen Sights. My '73 6" Colt Python is a close second.

I've owned so many guns that I can't remember all of them...
There is only one that I will never part with. An early Colt Frontier Scout with Stag grips.
Still in the original box with all papers including the price tag and sales slip. My Grampa gave it to me around 1972. When I get older I will give it to my Son...

IIRC, the 442 was the blued model. The 642 was stainless. The 642 ran from 1990 to 1993 and was discontinued. S&W brought it back in 1996 as the 642-1, in different finishes. It was their best selling firearm in 2006.

I have bought and sold at least 50 handguns during the last 45 years. I have reduced my collection to a S&W M-15, S&W M-60, Ruger SP-101, Ruger LCP, Glock 19 and Les Baer 1911 CONCEPT V. I would be hard pressed to part with any of them except maybe the LCP.

My Freedom Arms 97 (357) would be hard to part with. Or possibly a 1907 Colt SAA in 45 Colt, it just has lots of character. I have no sentimental attachment on either gun.

I am also partial to my SP101 2 1/4" .357, but my 2 never sell handguns would have to be my S&W PC 66 3" Carry Comp and my S&W 15 2" .38.

I'd have to go with my newly aquired S&W 686 6".

Not the lightest or most concealable but I like the idea of never needing mags and that it could last pretty much forever with a minimum of care.

Also has some sentimental value being that I got it from a good friend.

Still love my Glocks though.
