Which handgun is "The One" you'd never ever part with?

Glock 23.
The perfect handgun
Glock reliability,
14 shots of a decent caliber
Perfect sized package for concealed or open carry.

I second that. I just picked up a Glock 23 and (so far) I love it. However, I'll definitely be looking for a few of the +2 magazine extension and maybe having tritium sights installed.

What I would NEVER sell or trade is a QUALITY .357 mag revolver with four or six inch barrel and adjustable sights!!!!! This, IMO, is the untimate handgun. Any good 357 revolver will dot Is and cross Ts at remarkable ranges and is a serious hunting/self defense firearm. A recent FBI study concluded that the 357 is the deadliest handgun commonly possessed by citizens and out 'classes' or 'outguns' the 45 ACP as a 'deadly firearm by a considerable margin.

My Ruger GP-100 .357 Mag. 3", fixed combat sights - I can hit targets from my hip! Love that Gun.

I love firearms and we all have one rifle, shotgun and handgun we favor and would never sell.
For me it's the Ruger SP101 with a 3" barrel in .357 mag.
It's handsome, reliable, has good power and carries very well as it's not huge.
I've loved this little revolver from the start and I purchased it brand-new.
What is the handgun you own that you'd never let go of out of them all?

I have a WW I .45 S&W revolver. The barrel was shortened to about 4 & 1/2 inches & chamfered. Fits my large hand,almost zero kick & is extremely accurate.

Had considered selling & buying a Judge but with several speed loaders,figured I'd be stupid to take a flight of fancy.

Probably number 2 on the list would be this S&W Airweight, in .38 of course.
I like it for it's good looks and light weight.

Probably my only one, my XDm. But I foresee many guns (hopefully) in my future, so who knows :)

Smith & Wesson Model 66, 4", .357 magnum. Great SA & DA trigger pull and very accurate and reliable. Had it for 25+ years. Can't go wrong with an old K-Frame Smith.

Can't limit myself to just one.

My favorites -

Browning High Power
Glock 23
S&W M13
S&W M442

However, if I were forced to have just one handgun it would be a Glock 17.

In ascending order (cause I don't plan on parting with any of them!):

Beretta .22 Model 70-S... too many friends have wanted this one, but it was my first and is still my primary "pack" gun;

S&W 686 4"... bought used but has the nicest trigger job I've ever felt on a revolver;

Colt 1991 A1 SS... again bought used, but also the nicest trigger job I've felt on a semi-auto;

My CETME... feels nicer than the HK 91 I had and just looks so cool...

The rest I'd be hard pressed to part with, but would before any of the above.

My favorite handgun is my used 4" 686. Staging the trigger for a silky smooth DA shot is just butter. It's chunky, it's heavy, but in a pinch there isn't a another handgun that I would trust my life with:thumbup:

As far as revolvers go I have two I would never let go. My performance center .44mag and my bear country .454 super redhawk. But if your talking T/C Encores well thats another story.

Wow, tonyc454 I love that Ruger. I had a Redhawk .44, but it got traded for a rifle. Miss it even if it was a bit much here in the east.

Though I have considered it several times, the handgun I'll probably never part with, is my Walther P99. It may be rather obscure and unpopular these days, but it works for me, and always seems to get some attention at the range. Plus it was my first handgun, and a gift, so there's some sentimental value attached to it as well.

I used to have one of those. I didn't like it and I am a HUGE Walther fan. IMO, the people who really like P99's are ones that have never handled a full sized P88 and truly seen what Walther can get out of a double stack 9mm when they were not making it to a particular price point. The MSRP on the gun was over $1500 in the late 80's, so that was why it never sold well.:eek: :D

OK, this is a little weird. Walther P99QA 40 S&W.
Given to me as a gift 2002. My first Large caliber handgun.
I have 22,000 rounds through it and a complete tear down at the factory to have everything needed changed. Only 5 springs not counting recoil spring. I can shoot that QA trigger all day long. Fits me like a glove, IWB, Strong side belt holster or an other way. I have close to 8 spare 12 round mags and parts for every need. It's not a production gun anymore so they will be hard to come by. I carry it at least 4 days a week between that and a Glock 26.

jdm61,

I have actually had the chance to handle a Walther P88, wasn't able to shoot it unfortunately. I thought it was a well made weapon, but for some reason, in my hands it felt even thicker than a Beretta 92. That, on top of the nearly $2000 price tag that was attached to it, kept me from picking one up. So, you may not have liked your P99, but I'm loving mine:D.

Condition 1,

I think the .40 QA's may still be in production. At least I see more P99's in .40 than I do in 9mm around here.
