Depends on what was written on the MO. $1000 for purchase of X? or just pay to the order of? I don't know the law but I do know that you can't make a claim with a money order like you can with paypal.

My comment had less to do with the form of payment than the non participation of the seller. Seriously, in my mind it is never a good idea to send a grand to a complete stranger, but someone with so little interaction with the community over 5 years? I would have a hard time with a hundred dollars.

But isn't it that MO is safer than PP because technically it is a federal punishment if you mess around with it? We don't have MO in Canada so I am speaking from what I have heard here. MO just looks like cash to me and I would never deal with it, although I was sent once an international MO even my bank didn't know what to do up here
