Depends on what was written on the MO. $1000 for purchase of X? or just pay to the order of? I don't know the law but I do know that you can't make a claim with a money order like you can with paypal.
And then of course the authorities have to be willing to go after the guy...

My comment had less to do with the form of payment than the non participation of the seller. Seriously, in my mind it is never a good idea to send a grand to a complete stranger, but someone with so little interaction with the community over 5 years? I would have a hard time with a hundred dollars.

But isn't it that MO is safer than PP because technically it is a federal punishment if you mess around with it? We don't have MO in Canada so I am speaking from what I have heard here. MO just looks like cash to me and I would never deal with it, although I was sent once an international MO even my bank didn't know what to do up here

I am done bickering as I said before I have stated what happened correct knife was sent and I am being demanded to refund. I feel like I am being scammed I definitely didn't send a stupid kershaw skyline that's ridiculous to me. I have no problem contacting postal inspectors and I could care less if Scott contacts postal inspectors or Scott can email me to try to work something out.

My old number was from a different area code and I changed it to where my current clients are. I wouldn't ever change my number over a $1K knife deal I have much more important things I do than that. I told Scott I had no problem refunding his money once I could figure out what the heck happened but he decided to post in here instead.

Yanks, could you please elaborate why your phone number changed for work? I don't mean to be nosy, but having a solid work contact is crucial. Perhaps more crucial than your personal contact. I don't care if you're a hot shot banker or a pizza parlor. When it is eleven thirty at night and I'm starving, the last thing I want is to call my local pizza place and hear "do do deep, the phone number you are trying to dial has been disconnected"...Of all the things you've said so far, I find that the most unsettling.

And did you close down your twitter account for work also? Sorry i meant instagram.

Only after you changed your phone number and stopped responding to my contact attempts.

A skyline weighs about 2.5 ounces, looks like a MSC SnG is in the neighborhood of 4.5 ounces. I don't know how much the average sock weighs but that one is pretty small and thin so surely not much. Should be pretty easy to settle based on weight.

Sechip honestly man I dont think you are gonna get anything out of yanks here
Save your energy and contact the authorities tomorrow regarding this. If it was MO then it is a serious fraud I would not like to be in his shoes. My prayers are with you brother and keep us uptodate! the sock made my weekend tho!!!

Iv'e got a scale and just weighed them and it comes in at 3.0 oz's.
I can take a pic if need be.

I've never had a twitter in my entire life.

You have no problems paying $1000 and acting like its nothing but have your brother ship things for you? Sounds like you are a kid, I would never have anyone ship an item I sell, especially a $1000 knife. I make a very good living and $1k is no joke for me so quite acting like a high roller and give the man his money back.

yanks, evidence is key in any argument. Without any evidence, your words are pretty meaningless. It's something that should have been taught from middle school and onwards. Post your shipping receipt.

Yanks, you were prepared to make a refund, but the posting of the issue changed that?

Post the DAMN SHIPPING RECEIPT!!!! GEEBUS!!!!!!!! That makes all this go away! .......and don't say "i cant find it" because you don't lose a receipt that proves you shipped a $1000 knife. it doesn't happen.

JUST. POST. IT.

BTW what happened with the guy from NC? I thought he was gonna post here soon

I just got off the phone with him and he's been in contact with Ryan and trying to work things out as they are friends, it is supposed to be taken care of by morning and if not the guy from N.C. will post
everything he knows including personal info.
But for now we're giving him one more chance to make things right and i don't want to mess up any potential positive outcome, till then i'm cautiously optimistic.....

as RevDevil says 2 sides to every story. What concerns me is the following, members here make foolish business deals, disregard all the clear signs, don't follow the basic rules of buying via the internet, pay with funds not protected, don't at first chance ask for copy of tracking number, to see if item is moving and if insured, I bet op did not tell seller to only ship insured. Which really only protects the shipper, and then the poor 'ol OP drags into a forum, screaming woe is me, woe is me. OP you committed suicide. You screwed yourself and show up here smelling freshly screwed and bleeding out every hole and expect everyone to fix your mess, friend you created the storm, ride it out yourself. Had this been a smart deal, with seller itrade cking out different story. To me it is a clear case of OP knife greed that screwed the deal. Wake up, scammers are everywhere, everyday, and if Yank is or not, really does not matter, you opened the hen house door, the fox is full and you crying because you don't have eggs. This is the oldest story on any internet site. If you did not care, why should 3-4 Mods and the members. If you are really a tough guy, handle your dealing, but you best get a better knife than the funk drunk skyline, LMFAO. also what does seller's dad have to do with this mess you jumped into, imo that is a B/S move. It says a lot about your character posting dad's name, and coming here because you GAVE someone your lunch money. It is pointless to try and "save" you, because you'll jump right back in again. Instead of crying, you should learn a lesson, Life's not fair son, certainly when you help stack the deck. Your blaming others and calling this guy and that guy is sad, just go look in the mirror if you want answers. Yank, give the guy back his money now, you won, beat him and taking money from old ladies and kids really ain't that fun. Pick on someone your own size. Wrong to prey on the weak, I'll respect you once op gets his money, he lacks the style and nerve to scam you yank and you know it, so stop playing and send his milk money back now ! Always a bigger bully around if you don't.. Thanks for manning up, I give you that on the front end, don't let me down, don't make me sad.... rb black
