Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Attended the Indiana Knife Collectors Festival yesterday. Was quite pleased to pick up a 2007 GEC Tidioute #53 Cuban, Chocolate Jigged, 1 of 250 Serial #154. Also picked up a couple more Case 2 blade Hobo's, one Rosewood and the other Corelon. :)

Picked this beauty up last week. I do not know much about it. Other than the stamped started in 1984. The Queen Date Code Chart I have stops there. So in a effort to find out more I contacted Queen Cutlery Historian to find out more. Still waiting for a response. Anyone here on the Porch happen to know the Year & Model#?

How's the lock up when closed? I have one of his barlows and while it's stunning and the finish is amazing, it is really easy to close when opened. Gorgeous knife.
Got the knife, pull open is strong, 8... snap close is good, just have to go about 3/4 close before spring takes over, but not easy to close when open, it will loosen with use. As with all handmade works, each varies. I'm pleased with it, begs to be a user. [emoji106]

Glad to hear your enjoying it. His work isn't as popular as some other's on blade forums, but he makes a heck of a knife for a great price.

I'm a fan of Tim Britton slip joints and of course, Todd Davison.

The Schrade blue bone was a no questions asked pounce from ebuy-Now Ive got 2 -heh heh.
The SAK style Solingen camp knife was a bargain -came blunt as but I sharpened it up for use.:)

Thanks AL
no maker other than the shield which is slightly askew and a tang stamp with the same spouting whale emblem and GERMANY.
Its definitely done some living but still plenty of snap. I was intrigued as I have never seen one quite the same.
Is the whale a kind of generic Solingen emblem maybe. Also it was red rusty in a few spots.
cheers.

I've read somewhere that the whale tang stamp is the mark of Richartz, Solingen.

Hey I like that old classic. Are we seeing the effect of out gassing on the blades ? Perhaps from another knife it was stored with?

Meako, those blades have the hammer forged marks on them purposely. At least the few other ones that I've seen were like that as well.
