Bad How I got $700 stolen from me (CaptainFuzzy / TacticalEdge8541)

Called in, Mchenry county states attorney said he didn't have paperwork in his department as of now, he said however as soon as he gets it in his victims coordinator is supposed to send out a package in the mail to fill out a restitution file, assert rights, ect.. he also explained to me that this man is already on supervised probation and is possible that this crime will just get tacked on to that. That is what I gathered from the conversation.. I guess I'm just supposed to wait for more mail to come in?

Also has anyone called in to his workplace? This man is on probation and committing crimes, I'm sure his supervisor will no longer keep him on if he knows what is going on. Last I heard he works at some place called ACME tools. It would be nice knowing he is no longer receiving a paycheck.

I've not heard anything and have not gotten anything in the mail from LE. I called early last week and provided my info to local LE.

Please call back again, tell them what happened and you would like to submit a statement, they will give you an email address. email them the story of what happened and what money or goods you are out and all your contact info. Then they will send you a letter. The email I was given is clinstro@nd.gov

That, haha, I don't suggest you doing it at all. You know he is a criminal and he has your information.

Lools like another period of waiting, let's hope for the best(have items and money back) while preparing for the worst(raise another budget before heading back to BladeHQ)

I would suggest calling his probation officer and informing them of his actions. You could probably look-up the office/contact info and then they could point you to the person handling his probation. They could double check with the local police and see that numerous complaints have come in. The probation officer could inform the employer if they think that is appropriate - although once the police get things rolling, I would suspect they will probably go to the business anyway since packages were sent there. Be sure to inform the police that he had the packages sent to work.

Especially if you don't want restitution and want him living on welfare.

I'm pretty certain no one will see restitution, unfortunately they cant take him to jail for not paying restitution. However the most likely outcome is we can see some justice with jail time, something with probation, and a mandatory fine the judge may issue. Sorry, I'm a realist.

Not sure how probation is up there. Here you have to pay all fines and restitution before they release you from probation. They can also violate you for not making payments.

Guys I have just been watching the thread and I want to say;

I'm sure everyone has done this but just incase, make sure everyone who got vicked by this guy call the cops. The more reports that come in the more they will be motivated to act upon it. You have to report the crime so that way they have a report of your stolen property.

This guy is probably going to try and tell them that it is some internet scam you are trying to pull on HIM. So the more people who submit evidence to the contrary the better it paints the picture for the cops what happened.

According to the person I spoke to about ND laws it doesn't favor us in that way here.
Let's just stop here, people may get uncomfortable hearing this kinda negative outcome, even this may eventually happen to all of us.
I wish you have a good night and let's hope the upcoming judgement would bring us some light.

If you use the U.S. Mails in any way in a scam, it is arguably the felony of Mail Fraud.

If you use the telephone, internet, or a credit card in a scam, it is arguably the felony of Wire Fraud.

Up to 20 years in a federal prison (no parole available) and up to $250,000 fine per offense, or both.

You are definitly right here. Everybody Check this out, Mail Fraud Complaint:

I would say if the local LEO does not pursure this case far enough we all should report it to the Federal.
