Correct, so not able to bear that undue burden for three whole hours required him to axe the deal, because he is a respectable human being and that is what they do. Got it. Your not disagreeing with me.

I am the one who edited my response to remove the slang term for escrement, not a moderator.

And the big one that seems to be ignored by everyone, I didn't ever nix the deal, the seller did. That is a fact that even he admits to. Yes, I shouldn't have said that I might, but I told him so he nixed it. The point being, I was prepared to follow through and buy it when he cancelled the offer. This FACT seems to be ignored over and over again.

you nixed the deal when you requested he wait until you found out if another knife would be available.

we have no way of knowing whether you intended to actually pay. the only evidence of this is what you say here.

we do know you wanted him to wait for you to see if you could get another knife. that means that you didn't want to pay for his until you found out for sure that the other was unavailable.
 
Look, I didn't come to this forum to make enemies with anyone. I said it was mistake to post what I did when I did, I should have waited a few hours. We disagree on the apparent severity of this "crime", the hastiness with which the seller reactedm, and what this says about my character. I would assert that anyone who is really out to screw you all and needs to be looked out for, wouldn't ever bother coming on here to defend themselves at all, but I'll leave that to your own best judgements.

Like I said, it's not a big deal to me since I will only be buying from the store from now on.

Here on BFC when you say you will "take it" and then ask the seller to "wait" so you can be certain the knife you want more is no longer available; you have engaged in unacceptable conduct

Stop minimizing it, here it's a major NO-NO.

Learn from it and move forward or "delete yourself"

No, the point being you were prepared to bail on a deal after saying "I'll take it" and the only reason you did not was because the "better" deal evaporated. That's the FACT, everything else you've posted is smoke and mirrors.

Seller had ZERO reason to trust your word after your waffle. You seem to think they should have given you another opportunity to string them along. Most here obviously disagree.

If that's truly the case, then why even mention the other knife? That is, if you were prepared to go through with the deal no matter what, why not just pay and be done with it?

I can understand a modest delay in payment. Sometimes folks need to shuffle funds around, especially on a pricey knife.

But the effect of mentioning a second knife was to suggest that you were reconsidering the purchase of the first knife. As a seller, I would have pulled the plug as well.

It's not really a group I care to try and make amends with anyway, there are for more important things I could waste my time on. It's a good thing that you will not attempt to buy or trade with anyone on this forum because everyone knows that when you say "I'll take it", what you really mean is;

"If I don't find a different knife to spend my money on, I'll pay you for yours... but if I DO find another knife to buy instead of yours, I won't be paying you anything because I really DON'T want to take yours."

If you plan to continue your dishonesty in the Exchange, it would be fine with the members here if you discontinued your posting at Bladeforums. Period.
 
Just to add. Yes, we do take it seriously. Especially when the sale of expensive knives are involved.

Toying with a seller who is counting on a sale worth several hundred dollars? Not welcome.

how i behave at parties is irrelevant, as is the rest of your strawman argument about the integrity of anybody else.

what is relevant is i have been honest in all my dealings here and i would bet the membership can attest to that fact.

if you think making ammends with this community is a waste of time, then find somewhere else to spend your time. and i have yet to see anything from your posts that you have made any attempt to make ammends in any way.
