jeepdud3 is not accepting my offer for a refund. The only other option given to me was to refund him back the costs of having Rick "restore the knife to as new condition" if Rick decides that the knife shows signs that it was sharpened/carried/used. jeepdud3 said he would cancel the Paypal claim only after I post our agreement.

and if rick finds it to be normal imperfections from production and hes still not happy? what then? Per bf rules if hes not happy he gets a refund of the rest i guess? this is a mess.

I believe the agreement is that he will keep the knife and there will be no cost to me.

better get that in writing and notarized my friend..........but i dont think it will matter since BF rules state that the deal is not complete until he is happy so technically i believe you would still owe him. Mods correct me if im wrong

as has been the norm for dealing with this gentleman he only represents his poor poor self below is 1 exerpt

well now that we are talking civilly i agree, i did from the beginning that is why i was PMing you, when i left for my appointment yesterday, i also mailed the blade, my calls this morning were to make arrangements to not only have the blade inspected to see if it was his poor production methods, or after market, he too has a reputation to maintain, i told him by the time he would receive the package i might have the chance to quiet things down and bargain with you, what i would like to see happen is to get the blade cleaned up, and have the money deducted from the selling price, i do want the blade, but we both know it was not in new in box condition, unless you seriously did not look it over? this is also what i told paypal, i am not controversial or vindictive, but, i and we all want what we pay for.
i do not know if you noticed but i did change the verbiage on the thread.

yes i do want this settled calmly, and as upright men.

Oh and I believe Rick told him that he will fix the issues for free if those "issues" are not deemed to be my fault. Service I'd expect from Rick.

EDIT: Just to clarify, we don't "both know it was not in new in box condition". It was NIB when I shipped it.

i do not have this pm, bye KYA has failed to mention that if reeves finds it is manufacturer error, than KYA has no responsibility, he knows this, but loves all the bleeding hearts

ok bleeding hearts or not this situation is now resolved. I think its time to stop the bickering, pay what needs to be paid after rick diagnosis the problems, make a note to never deal with each other again and be done with it. think its time to lock this sucker up

I've eyeballed a few XM-18s in the past few months and have noticed a few flaws on all of them. Rick cant make these fast enough cause they fly out the door.I checked out the pics closely and really cant see anything I hav'nt seen on other xm-18s.

I thought Rick was very QC orientated, he is not??

not the black listtttttttttttt

Sorry, but from your posts here I just wouldn't wanna deal with you.

The deal in play at the moment completely ignores the whole "deal is not done till everybody's happy" rule. You refused a refund, shipped the knife out without consultation, made arrangements to have it refurbished (for what I still don't get), and told the seller that he was gonna agree to all this or he was gonna have his funds held until you decided otherwise.

Hope everything works out for both parties, but I don't see kya's commitment here extending beyond the simple refund that was offered. As soon as you shipped the knife to a third party without his input, the deal shoulda been done.

jeepded3, if you have filed with PayPal, your behavior has just crossed the line. This is inexcusable. You have a public offer of a refund. Taking the case to PayPal will harm kya's interests for no conceivable reason.

You are now jeopardizing your own status here.
well well, it has been this way from square 1, KYA and i have been trying to work things out for maybe 1 hour, via PM the way i first attempted to resolve this problem, and he did not want to let you guys know that we were in the process, he loves the sympathy i said a page or 2 ago that since it was no longer in my hands(better left to a professional) and since i was being buried in fairy tales i was out, but you all want to respond on half truths, pat the little boy on the head, forget the wrong he did, so if your eminence feels the need to boot me, dont let me slow you down

What are you talking about? No one is blindly siding with Kya. I've been following this thread for the whole time.

- You had an issue with the knife
- Kya disagrees, but offers refund
- You file paypal dispute for your money back while keeping the knife, then ship it out to a third party
- all of the other Hinderer owners and knife enthusiasts are saying that the red spot on the pivot and the grind lines look to be par for the course, NOT used/carried/modified
- you end it with sassing the mods, who have stayed neutral observers for the entirety of this thread.

I hope everything works out for both of you, but this is what I've gathered from this thread. You seem to be out for blood on a non-issue.

Knife looks like every hinderer iv received straight from Rick , from the grind to the copper colored pivot .. That color will also be found in the jimping, it's normal . He offered a refund , you sent the knife out to be refurbished , the knife is now yours and the deal is done !

I posted that link to help you out as a courtesy. If you havent noticed there are at least 2 makers/ providesr that have publicly stated they dont wanna deal with you. You took a private affair public and even continued this even after a refund was offered publicly and then got sarcastic with a mod, a guy who can get you banned. This situation was resolved two pages ago and now 1500 views later your only hurting YOUR future. at this point your making more enemies than friends. This thread isnt about Kya anymore its about you. as far as we are all concerned he held up his end of the bargain the second he posted hed refund you. Im done with this, if your still around dont even bother responding to my stuff in the exchange.

So jeepdud3, when will that Paypal claim get canceled? I held up my end of the agreement by posting our agreement here.
