My experience with Liu Kang

I appreciate the support, but lets remember, Busse has nothing to do with this. Dont let 1 guy ruin it for ya. It bothers me when I read Dan has turned people off to Busse. Just put him on ignore and enjoy the blades brutha. After spending time with the crew at blade for my first time this year, all I got to say is that it gets NO better then the Busse Crew.
It's his hoarding mentality that bothers me and has turned me off to the Busse exchange. I don't mind paying a premium to find just the right knife but his prices and practices are beyond the pale. I especially don't like his comment "Because I did not want you to have the knife and wanted it back." Waaaaaaaa, waaaaaaa, waaaaaaaa, waaaaaaaaaa. Is that a baby crying or did he just lose another round of kickball and wants to take his ball home?

Ok just from what I understand...

Eric paid Liu 720 for...
- the knife
- delivery confirmation from USPS
- insurance from USPS

He got two thirds of what he paid for. (knife and dc). So what is all this arguing about? Theres nothing to argue about.

Liu, you didnt give him the insurance he asked for! How hard is that to f@$&kin understand?

Ya you made a mistake so own up to it and pay him the 11 bucks.

I would put the $ in the trash. Now its simply about informing others.

Im happy with not posting anymore, but Id like to leave it open so others can be informed and post if they ever have a similar situation. Ive had others email me saying they have experienced the same thing with Dan. Most people just dont wanna have to deal with this kind of BS so they sweep it under the rug. Please, if you have had a similar situation happen when purchasing off of LK, dont be afraid, post it.

added*, I have forgiveness in my heart, we could defiantly go back if Dan was willing to grow up and do whats right. Not so much with this situation, but with the communities complaints as a whole.

understood, thanks for the follow up. no, Sir, i have no experience with Mr. Kang. i'm neutral in any bad or good experiences with anyone in this thread. and wow, that's pretty generous i think your offer, to Mr. Kang, and should be an easy choice to make, to have this whole thing become the past. very admirable on your part.

SECTION 2 - Rules for Selling / Trading / Offering Services:
Use common sense - Be 100% sure you are ready to go before you do anything. This means:
1.Sellers - Be 100% sure that you want to sell the item and are satisfied with the selling price.

I think I will boycott Busse until Jerry stops letting LK post in the Busse sub for sale forum.

I am a strong believer that a manufacturer and vendor both share similar responsibilities according to law in terms of warranty. If you sell it, you warranty it for the same as the manufacturer (if the manufacturer were to disappear or stop providing service for whatever reason). As such, for as long as LK is allowed to post in their private for sale board, I will not buy Busse no matter how badly I want them. Used, new, from a different vendor. No Busse in my collection. This should NOT be confused with Busse having unethical selling practices, that is NOT the case. They are a superb company with solid ideals. However I must do this in order to stop LK in his sneaky thievery.

Sometimes a manufacturer will suffer horrendous reputation issues because of a vendor, and vice versa. It's time to hit LK where it hurts, his money and customer base (obviously he does not care about his reputation).

Now excuse me as I look at Busse knives I wish I could buy but wont. Guess it will give me an excuse to go custom. :D

With all due respect, I think choosing to not buy from Jerry because you choose to not buy from LK does not really make a lot of sense to me. That said, you are of course free to make your choice as you see fit for yourself.

Luis, I respect your choice and appreciate most of what you have posted here but please refrain from posts like that in this thread. I am a proud supporter of busse combat. This thread is about me and LK, no one else so please lets stay on topic or else Im gonna lock it.

*snip*

And not everyone here is unemployed and sitting home to wait for a package, some people have actual jobs so if you required a signature or heavily insure the package, then, they are required to be there when the package is delivered. This can be a problem since not everyone can be home so many ask for a simple delivery confirmation number. So the option of getting insurance is up to the buyer. I have never lost any packages that was shipped within the 48 states.

*snip

So the insurance is at the option of the buyer, but when it was asked for and you didn't include it you are willing to accept all the responsibility for covering that loss on your own? And you want everyone to take your word for it even though it is not spelled out anywhere in your boilerplate language at the top of each sales thread? I know the PO is generally very reliable and you say you've never had a package lost in the CONUS but wow, that's a lot of liability. It could be mitigated to some degree for a reasonable cost by placing insurance equal to the purchase price on each shipment. Unless of course you have some actual policy on the side with a legit insurance company to cover your business in these cases. Do you have something like that? I sure hope so. Personally, I don't have such an arrangement so I get the PO's insurance when I sell/trade via these forums.

You say it's not convenient for people to have to sign for packages and I agree that sometimes it can be a pain. Hypothetically, though, I would think it would be of greater inconvenience to you to refund someone's money for a lost knife that wasn't insured. You would then be out the money, via your self insurance policy, and the knife. It might be inconvenient at times to sign for something but I put a higher value on having at least some level of verifiable protection than I do on the chance of inconvenience catching the postman. Why is the default choice that the customer has to ask for insurance? Why would you not have the standard procedure be to provide the greater protection for you and the customer and only remove it if the customer elects to do so at their risk? It's because you place maximum profit above the protection of your shipments and your customers under the guise of their convenience. It costs you nothing at this point to say "I would have paid if the knife wasn't delivered." You want the customers to be left holding the bag if something goes wrong because you can't be bothered to insure shipments of your own accord. Nice way to run a business.

Lastly, since you seem to like to have full disclosure on the people posting in this thread and what their connections are I'll tell you this. I sold dericdesmond a Spyderco folder back in November of 2008 for $50. He and I were both happy with the deal and you better believe that package was insured. :)

Very well, sorry. Just people like LK make my blood boil, I've successfully shut down various dealers like him in the past. Few ever change :(

I completely understand and do very much so appreciate your efforts. Thanks for understanding Sir.

Hey Louie Kang! Did you refund Deric's freaking 12 bucks yet?! Whats the hold up? Sounds like terrible cs to me! I will never order from you and hope that all this wonderful press youre getting on this thread with only benefit your overpriced, s**t customer service of what you call a biz! Do me a favor, reach down and see if you got a pair then make this sale right!

Ho do you unsubscribe from a thread? I put my statement that I won't buy from Liu Kang ever based on his business model and that was all I needed to say. Take care all.

Here is what Eric says for those not paying attention:

Im sure he meant initially, ya know, when you refused.

Still waiting on that "story" or was the "slander"/me being a dealer wanting to drive you out conspiracy theory just that?

Here is what Eric says for those not paying attention:

So it would wind up in the trash.

The action of paying him back would still be morally right.

It's been said many times before. It's not about the money, it's about the principal.

It's also about the very likely possibility that this insurance issue has happened numerous times before to other customers, and the likelihood that it may continue to happen to future customers, I believe.

With LK - it is always (and only) about the money... This thread proves it.

Principal (or integrity, or morals) do not seem to be words he understands.
