Bad Survive! Deserves A Permanent Post In The Hall Of Shame

No we get it. Guy does this all the time. Look at that Abject guy, the shill who preceded you. Same story; no problems ordering unobtanium knives in days while people who'd paid for knives years ago are still waiting.

You signed up on here to hype them. Too bad we've all heard that same song before.
I signed up in this forum July of last year. Here was my first ever post:

Thread 'Trench Hawk Came W/O Nut'
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/trench-hawk-came-w-o-nut.1883751/

So you’re saying that every post or thread I’ve made is just waiting to talk about Survive? Read my former posts - I’ve never said anything about them before.

I get that, and I do sympathize with people who have been mistreated by Survive. But I had no idea about this when I ordered knives from them. And I’m sorry if it upsets people that I had a positive experience, but I did.
You have to understand, if someone came here wanting to discuss their new Ganzo clone, without knowing that they had supported a rotten company, they would be told how bad Ganzo is. Most of us are unwilling to discuss whatever merits a knife has when it was made by thieves.

If you didn’t know that they were thieves beforehand, then don’t feel bad. Just understand why we don’t support them in any way.

Look - I started my own thread about a new knife that I had received.

I had absolutely no idea that Survive was hated on this forum. I was shown this thread as a response to my thread, but I did not comment here until someone made fun of my thread here, and I felt that I needed to explain myself.

My thread was frozen not because of anything I said or did, but because it was just a series of people doubting my credibility and saying some unfavorable things to me and about Survive. I was given no explanation by a moderator as to why it happened.

I’m feel that I’m being insulted for no reason by several individuals with whom I have absolutely no beef nor any history. I’m not trying to justify the company. I’m simply defending that what I’m saying is the truth, and explaining my situation. I have never engaged with anyone on this forum in any negative manner, and I do not plan on doing so.

I just feel like I’m being attacked about a purchase that I made and was happy about sharing with the world. It’s not my fault that I was unaware that Survive was thought of in this manner here. I get it now. I won’t say more about them.

But it’s simply crappy to be treated as if I’m a liar or a shill, when both of these things are the furthest from the truth. I’m just a guy that likes knives, and it hurts my feelings that I’m being treated this way when I’ve never done anything insulting or malicious here.

Some folks just take it personally how badly SK treats so many of its customers, and I can appreciate that, based on their lengthy history of not-quite-honest behavior. Personally I won’t ever do business with them, for a number of reasons. But I also get it that you’ve had a positive experience with them, you’re satisfied with the product, and now you just want to complete your collection. I actually feel badly for you that your experience with your new knives is being soured, but I also know where the hostility is coming from. I think it’s best to just let it lie now; understand that some people are just going to be miffed that anyone would want to do business with this company, and let it go. All we have now is people on both sides of the argument digging in their heels, and I don’t see any good coming from it. I’m glad you got what you paid for when it was promised and didn’t get screwed over, and I hope your next experience with them goes just as well.

Try not to take it personally. I bet the mods removed your post because it was destined to turn into a flame war, and now you can see where a lot of the bad will surrounding that company came from.

Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with saying you had a good experience with a company. I didn't have a good one with Survive!, but I can't deny the knife I got from them was well made. I do think there's value in providing a warning/caveat on posts regarding Survive!, or even deleting them on occasion, because new or uninformed people might see such posts and think it's representative of the company as a whole. While they do deliver some knives, it does seem like they're frequently delivered late or not at all.

Had I seen this thread a year ago, I never would have purchased from them…just based on the fact that so many people felt cheated. I do appreciate supporting companies that I believe in, and shunning those that are known to have ill practices towards their customers.

I appreciate your sentiments to me…it’s a really strange predicament to be in.

On the one hand, I was all stoked about this new killer knife that I’ve been waiting for for almost a year. I finally get it, and it’s just awesome…so I want to share it.

On the other hand, I make a thread to share my excitement, and I’m told that I never should have done business with them, or that I’m lying/shilling. It was such a slap in the face that I didn’t even know how to feel.

So now I feel like I’ve done something wrong, even though I know I didn’t do so intentionally. And I’m left with two knives that I really like, but I feel a bit guilty for liking them.

People are not upset YOU had a positive experience at all mate. They are rightly angry at all the BS and scumbagery that Perish! Knives have pulled for close to a decade now. No one wants anyone else to get their hopes up for a positive experience and get taken by reading you did well, the hope and roll of the dice is what keeps these scumbags stringing more people along.

Glad for everyone keeping this front page news.
I don’t feel that you’re not really playing fair here man. You’ve insulted me multiple times, and when I felt forced to defend myself, you again mock the fact that it’s being brought up. I feel like you were unnecessarily rude to me for no reason. I’m not angry…I just don’t feel like I deserved to be treated the way you treated me.

I totally understand and am fully willing to keep my positive experiences to myself going forward.

My issue is that several people personally attacked me, and I don’t think it was warranted.

No I don’t think it warranted in the first instance as to me it was obvious that you walked into the wall of flame unwittingly. Where you did yourself no favours was doubling down here with the “I had a great experience I will order another” part. Good for you, I mean that genuinely, I don’t want to see ANYONE disappointed in a knife or service but taking that approach in the face of all the information about these idiots/liars/thieves is what got most angry. “I mean I am OK so none of the rest matters” is rightly or wrongly how others take that.

I prefer facts to fair. So we'll just have to agree to disagree.

If you don't want this to be front page news the solution is easy.

I don’t understand what you’re saying.

I’ve clearly explained my experience with Survive, shown documentation of my orders, and explained exactly why I posted what I posted on this thread.

If you still think that I’m being dishonest, there isn’t much that I can do.

But I very much feel like you attacked my integrity, and I know that it was unfounded. I cannot do much about it, but it really feels bad to be treated like a liar when you’re not lying…especially by people that you hope to make friends with that share the same passion as yourself.

Nah, you did nothing wrong. There’s been a handful of posters in the recent past who took experiences like yours a few steps further and actually defended this company, ignoring the bad experiences of others and the proof from Survive’s own web site of many years of bad behavior, and that causes some folks here to get their hackles up, sometimes before getting the whole story. I don’t fault them, because some of them have been burned pretty badly by this company. Some of those posters were blatantly trolling, some just refused to objectively see the evidence and first-hand experiences. I don’t think you’re either of those, and I don’t think it was cool that you were attacked. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve joined in the piling on when somebody is obviously baiting; it just wasn’t warranted this time.

B Boss Hogg You're another in a short line of people who don't find S!K objectionable enough to be turned off from their products completely.
You're welcome to your opinion, and it's a free country- buy all the friggen S!K knives you want, and God bless.
However, no one here really wants to read about how you're really interested in dropping 500 bucks on a model 12.
This isn't a thread for discussing the casual pros and cons of an average knife company and displaying our shiny new acquisitions.

In my opinion, this thread has three purposes:
1) keeping track of the decade long fuckery of company with questionable ethics.
2) Making fun of that company for being a continual let-down and morally-corrupt enterprise.
3) dissuading everyone else from ever considering purchasing from them again.

There's enough facts here to doom this company 40 times over, yet it persists because they please the bare minimum of talking youtube heads to make it seem like they're legitimate.
It's time for them to go work for other people in other industries and learn what an honest business is.

I, for one, can't wait to see how Guy can apply his high standards when he prepares my crunch wrap supreme.

I don't think you did anything wrong. You didn't know about their history and you weren't aware about this thread. I think some people jumped on you because of your statement that you would buy another knife from them. I say enjoy your knife.

The guy said if he had known the company’s history before ordering, he would not have done business with them. What more do you want? He should throw his new knives into the shredder because he didn’t know he was dealing with scumbags? He only came into this thread and shared his positive experience to explain his position because he was being attacked. Everybody automatically assumes he’s here defending this company, when that’s clearly not the case. It’s one thing to warn potential buyers about a company run by bad people, and I’m all for it; it’s quite another to be looking for reasons to attack people who happened to not see the warning in time.

Based on the video, I sent a follow up email again, asking about potential overstock GSO 12s once they finally ship out the orders. I really want to get one if possible, mainly to A/B it against my Bark River Bravo 3. I love big choppers, even though my Silky saws are the smart bet most of the time. If they respond, I’ll post about it.

After the big revelation he still wants one. It’s fine, I just don’t think this thread is geared to “yeah what a shit company, but also I have another one in bound”.

Fair enough. How about this? If anyone gets a GSO-12 and wants to trade straight up for my like new in box Bark River Bravo 3 in 3V with black G-10 scales, let me know. That way you can get rid of a knife from this terrible company and get something comparable and of equal value, and I can complete my collection without giving them another dollar. I don’t want to support them anymore after hearing all of this, but I’m not about to throw $600 worth of perfectly good knives in the trash.
