Bad Survive! Deserves A Permanent Post In The Hall Of Shame

T theknifejunky - Depending on how you paid. PayPal has 180 days to file a complaint. If you paid for them in September you might still be able to file a claim to get your money back.

Otherwise take a seat you might be here waiting a while.

Why would I be suspitious? I never read any forums about them.
Now you're all caught up. Note that Survive hasn't updated their production numbers for 2 months. I'm sure it's because they're too busy fulfilling orders.

Why would I be suspitious? I never read any forums about them. I saw DBK video promoting them (never heard of them before), fell in love with gso5.1 (which I never got). So, OK, I waited 4 months for my first knife, which was reasonable time, then I got unexpectedly GSO8, why would I be suspitious?

You had me at “suspitious.”

Curious as to what guided you to this site to register at 3;30 am this Friday?

After reading some of the comments on here I wrote to Survive and cancelled the two outstanding orders I had and asked for a refund (close to $500). The orders are over a year old and I haven't heard back from those jokers yet. Has anyone called and actually spoken with them? Meanwhile I'm going to investigate any possible legal recourse to get my money back.

Good call.

I hate seeing people have to deal with this kind of nonsense, but it’s the best move to break ties, move on, and deal with someone reputable. I believe some people have actually gotten through to speak with someone on the phone. I think some have had luck threatening to go to the BBB as well. A lot of extra effort just to end up back where you started before ever placing an order, but better to have your money back in your pocket than in theirs. Good luck.

Since S!K has not responded, I would try working with your CC company or PayPal. I would also start posting all over their FB page, YouTube comments and Insta.

S!K stated on video that "...we are going to fight you toe to toe about getting a refund..." (see post #1951 in this thread for a link to the video) Based on MANY MANY posts here and other places on social media, S!K seldom responds to emails or calls, and makes it very difficult for customers to get refunds.

I wish you much luck.

My many emails were mostly unanswered other than the robo—automatic form letter response stating they are busy. It seems using the ‘contact’ form on their site was a bit more effective, but mostly ignored as well.

Good luck with refund, and enjoy spending it on great blades from the many great makers out there.

Incidentally, here's a couple of tidbits for those folks just joining us.

Looking at the numbers above, it's important to keep a few things in mind:

All of the tiny, incremental increases in completion for all these years? That's not knives being made, that's them giving refunds and then considering this an order filled. Remember, on the DBK Scumbag!Knives YouBoob video comments, Guy/Ellie made this assertion themselves. It's been screenshotted and posted here, so feel free to search back through. "You don't know that, maybe they're making batches of knives and getting them to customers!" Really? Ok. So. If everything the defenders have been bleating in this thread were true, I have questions. Questions like, how difficult would it be for Guy to get off his ass, pull his product order list up, see exactly what was outstanding from those years, bang those out, deliver them, and close out the books? How hard would that be? Why hasn't he done this for ALLLL these years of backlog his company has? Why is 2018 the only year in which 100% of all orders were fulfilled? Why didn't they go back and finish all outstanding orders from 2015-2017?

See what I mean? This chart that remember, they themselves publish is really actually showing all the ways they continue to screw with people. See, here's what I think: they aren't ever going to actually make the knives from those years old orders. In fact, it would surprise me if they even knew concretely what they still owed people. I think they're going to keep these numbers riding, and when people with those old orders finally get fed up with the wait (or remember they had an order in the first place) and request a refund, S?K will count those orders as completed, and close these years out. I think that's why you're seeing such small incremental changes. I mean, seriously? 2015, they did an entire "0.3%" in two months? Why didn't they simply make the entire one percent of knives (allegedly) left from that year?

These people are bums, and that's never going to change. They're never going to be "back on track". They were never on that ish to begin with.

Ducking creditors (which is essentially what their customers are) is the hallmark of grifters and broke people. We all know they don't want to talk to people.

That said, maybe if you pretended to have a huge YouRube channel that could get them exposure to new sheep to fleececustomers, I bet you get a response superfast, after which you can then be like "HAAAAAAAA, jaykay, Where's my money?". See how THEY like the bait and switch for once.

Couldn't get anybody to pick up the phone. I've decided not to waste time by dealing with these bastards, but I'll trash them incessantly on the internet whenever the opportunity arises. If I finally get the knives I ordered, I will consider it a bonus.

I strongly encourage you to take up a claim and get your money refunded.
Trash talk them all you want, but until you hit them in the purse they won't even notice.

Here's the Latin for the day, folks: "volenti non fit injuria"

If you read the feedback and still wish to participate, that's on you.

It looks like they are finaly back on track, I just got email from them:

QUOTE:

March Update

Hey Everybody! We know things have been a bit quiet lately, so we wanted to take a minute to let you know that production is still going smoothly behind the scenes. We’ve been working tirelessly to enhance our production workflow, both inside and outside of the shop: tightening up our supply chain, improving communication with our major vendors, and also taking care of much needed equipment maintenance. With everything now wrapping up, you can expect a huge update within the next few days.

We're all sick to death of production delays and we know you are too, so we've taken some pretty drastic steps to ensure we'll be able to serve you better moving forward. We very much appreciate your patience during this transitional period.
end of quote.

And there is explanation why they didnt answer all the emails:

Quote:

Regarding messages/phonecalls: Please bear with us for just a minute. Cell phone service has been a bit spotty and the internet is currently down. We have a technician coming tomorrow to ensure we have good internet/phone coverage throughout the shop and we are also now actively on the hunt for a new team member to help with customer relations.

End of quote.

(of course I am beeing sarcastic).

You'd be surprised, but people actually fall for that.
He's using business jargon in a really jargony way, so he must be legit, right?

Survive! Knives likes to periodically shut off all the lights and hide behind the couch and pretend to not be home.

Anyone who claims to have been working tirelessly is lying. Thanks for the update…

LMAO "Cell phone service has been spotty and the internet is currently down". Classic Scumbag!Knives. Oh, Ellie, you sweet summer child, never change.

Also, time to take another shot. Every time they promise things like "transition phases", "making improvements" or use the terms "back on track", you're supposed to slam one back. I actually am a ghost, posting this from the afterlife, since I actually died back in like, 2017 from playing this game.
