tundratrader-where are my knives?

I know you can restore the tracking on old certified mail on usps.com but it wont work from my phone, not in the mobile version of the site. it might work for this too if it was actually scanned.

Man this thread is brutal. Just another reason I won’t ship farther than Canada. It’s just not worth it in the long run for me at least. I hope this works out for you guys.

Just my thoughts for a difficult situation.

TT has been called a thief which is a strong accusation. I really doubt that he is still walking around with the blade in his pocket.
It's likely he shipped it and the blade is either lost, stuck in customs or has been stolen by someone from some agency. It seems he made several mistakes shipping the way he did and at the buyers request and the buyer took a huge risk to avoid tax.

Who's to say the knife isn't in the pocket of the buyer and TT is being scammed? No one knows. No way to show it shipped and no way to verify it arrived.

It seems both are equally at fault. I think both should take half the loss. TT refund half the total and end this mess. Both take a bath.

LMT66, in theory you are right....except TT can't PROVE he ever shipped the knife, and 6 months has passed. A full refund is due, even if TT is innocent.

Wow, we should split it. By splitting it 1 or both are getting screwed. If I thought I was being ripped off, I would have drawn attention to this situation much sooner. To me both were at fault and by not acting accordingly ( not saving a receipt and showing or giving shipping #'s and not sending your money pay pal as a purchase). If you are not willing to follow proper procedures at every opportunity available this outcome might occur more than often. Now both parties have their reputations damaged.

Things do happen, I purchased a $200 custom watch band from an upstanding member here, he send a DC # when he shipped it from FLA... 4 months later the PO said it was delivered but the DC hadn't been scanned and I had not received it.

Never once did it cross my mind that he had ripped me off, I sent him no more than 5 PM's over 4 months informing him that it hadn't arrived yet and that I had made my monthly visit to the PO to see if they could track it.

I was bored at the office one day and in an off mood, so I went to the PO when they opened and said I wasn't leaving until they searched the entire backroom... 45 minutes later it magically appeared back there "on the wrong shelf" months after it should have been returned to sender.

Six months is a long time. TT's offer to buy half of a new XM from the ranch is fair, both are at fault, refunding half works as well.

Reading the emails TT should have walked away from the sale at the start, an "I'll take it" followed by "I don't have the full asking price" coupled with international shipping and the PP fee for the currency exchange... Way more of a deal breaker for me than Meagan Fox's thumbs.

not terrible just really distracting

Zach made a pretty fair proposal. If he sent the #s long ago, I believe him that he shipped it. Its out of his hands once it leaves the states and the buyer knows this. Not having the receipt really hurts his case but I dont think he should be out $600.

$40 value on a hinderer, haha, I wonder if the people that check the packages are really that clueless. Maybe someone thought, "well its only $40, I doubt anyone will miss it that much :p"

I honestly don't know enough and frankly no one does except the buyer and seller. I don't understand why TT isn't trying harder to prove it. We live in the technology age there is some sort of proof that you sent it even if the receipt is long gone. JUST DO IT MAN !!!! I have only been a member for about a month but would fight pretty Damn hard to make sure my name was clean.

What sucks is that both of them cheated on the form and both have compelling arguments. I hope that knife shows up while this thread is alive!! We haven't really discussed the one member who didn't get his knife and is fighting it through PP.

I'm guessing that he paid with a credit card through PP and has a solid case. He hasn't posted much of anything except that he didn't get his and that he disputed it? Wonder what his story is and if it's the same as kromanm's?

What a mess. I am saving this thread for the next knucklehead that wants to debate my decision not to ship outside the US.

You have to know the shipping, customs, insurance, and PayPal rules as both a buyer and a seller and be disciplined in following them. As a seller, the customs forms have to be filled out accurately and honestly, you have to purchase insurance and send the package in a trackable manner. As a buyer, you have to be willing to pay for this or negotiate it into the price.

Way more of a deal breaker for me than Meagan Fox's thumbs.

Man o man. I kinda wish I hadn't seen those thumbs. Ignorance truly was bliss.

On topic, tough one. Both parties agreed to a bad idea, and the worst thing that could have happened, did. I know what I would do if I were tt, but this ain't mine to make right. Hopefully y'all will find a middle ground of somekind.

Maybe the guys at the Hinderer would allow TundraTrader to purchase another knife outright with the firefighter discount. They then would ship it to kroman.

That would be more than fair seeing that TT flipped the first knife at almost double. TT would only be out a small amount net, and kroman would get a knife.

I'm just trying to help find a solution.
