This sucks to read....

You're going to look back at that attitude in a few years and realize that you should have cared.

Sorry, getting off topic, but I don't even really know what the topic is anymore...
I think if you do enough research into any big US company that has been around awhile you will find quite a bit of wrongdoing, including wrongdoing that has caused deaths. Like auto makers, oil companies, coal mines, etc, etc.

That's 50 cents.

And that's all you got?

"That's 50 cents" ????

Was there something wrong with the advice I gave you.

I believe asking you to talk to the people that this effects to see why there is an issue here was reasonable advice...

I will bow out, there's no helping you.
You don't want to learn, you just want to preach...the floor is yours....Creflo.

What is the relevance? Point?

Sorry, I am not making a connection....

Right now, I am talking to those who are getting screwed with by Cold Steel's lawyers about the San Mai trademark:

Hey, do you support the site sponsors who sell copies of knives?

That's where we differ I guess.

I'm not too lazy to spend 20 seconds using Google, you are.

If I disagree with a company's policies, I don't give them money. Haven't been in a Wal-Mart since I've been old enough to make my own shopping decisions, nor have I bought a Ganzo, Sanrenmu, United Cutlery, Mtech, or Fury knife in my life.

I let my money speak for my values, I wish more people would do the same.
Way off topic, but do you own a car? Do you buy gas or oil? Is your electricity produced by coal from coal mines?

If you own a car, I wonder if that auto maker has ever knowingly allowed defective vehicles to stay on the road because they determined it was cheaper to pay law suit settlements then to do a total recall.

If you buy gas or oil, I wonder what sort of safety shortcuts the supplier has committed that resulted in a spill that cost many their livelihoods, as well as causing serious health problems for people, and employees who were later exposed.

Is your electricity provided by the burning of coal, like most of the US? Well, you don't have to look far to read about coal mine companies committing safety violations that resulted in fatal cave-ins and mine explosions.

Do a Google search. You can find plenty of reading on those topics.

It's always interesting to me when people pick and choose which companies to give their money to based on morality. But they're completely wiling to overlook the very severe wrongdoing of some companies for the sake of convenience, or personal desire.

Selective morality isn't morality at all, it's hypocrisy.

Perhaps I misinterpreted your post. Could you clarify? What attitude are you referring to? And what exactly do you think I will care about?

I can't get into it, it's "political" and I have learned that following the rules of where I post what is a good ideal!

I meant no disrespect, just that our actions, decisions and what we buy is really important right now.

Wait, you mean to tell me Cold Steel is suing someone? Old news. How is the research going on the axis lock patent?

Your wasting your time man.

He has access to so many manufactures through this forum, but refuses to ask them how clones effect their business..

He has figured out (all by himself) that the clones help these companies sell more knives, and that's a fact just because it is...

It's obvious that he's a patent expert, a lawyer, and a student of international trade.

You can't argue with people who just know....

I think I can read between the lines. And no offense taken.

On a related note (or perhaps unrelated) my computer was made in the same country as my Ganzo knives. In fact, I own many things that were made in that country.

I'm sure I could survive without a computer, as I'm sure many here could. But I choose to buy them anyways, even though I know that by doing so part of the money goes to the Chinese government, which has one of the worst human rights records in modern history, including mass murder.

But perhaps I'm the only one here who owns stuff made in China. But I have to wonder where every one elses computers were made. ;)

This signals that we have officially gone off the rails and over the moon.

You are not wrong, just missing the point....

Wait, I just did a Google search and looked that up (Latin).

Well, you quoted my post, where I said I shop at Walmart and own some Ganzo switchblades, then you said "I let my money speak for my values. I wish more people would do the same".

So I was curious to know just how far you take that principle. Does it have limits? Do you base all of your buying on that principle? Or does it only apply to knives and Walmart?

Was this thread ever on the rails?

Considering how it started, I'd say the train blew it's engine back in the station. :D

Believe me, I know. I did this whole thing before with Boris/Duane. You come up with X and they say well Y is true. You disprove Y and then they say well what about Z? It was more rhetorical than anything.

I already posted this:

You are also welcome to claim that a knife that says "Ganzo" on it and looks a little like some as a knife costing 5 times more is "hurting" the original - but no one can post a single study demonstrating that. In fact, it may be the opposite:
http://freakonomics.com/2012/09/05/w...-strong-brand/

And I am not going to ask such a stupid, loaded question. The official answer is always going to be either "no" or "I don't know". There is simply no way to measure something like that.

Does Sal have something to be concerned about with actual counterfeit? Yes, and so does his customers that spend Spyderco prices and get junk. Does Chris Reeve think he is losing business to this SRM:

C'mon.
