Beware of nirvanero

Now wait a one cotton picking minute the Spanish dude said he has a bunch of other millies in his collection how do we know the pics are not one of his. nirvanero you can end this whole just send Igor HIS knife and he refunds you your money and you can go frolic in the sunshine

Was this a remotely serious comment? Or just trolling? It seems like the latter. We've got pictures from both the buyer and the seller, now, and it's clearly the same knife. And, it's pretty clear by looking that it's not NIB. The edge does, in fact, look like it was sharpened by a DMT Aligner. You can see really easily in the seller's pictures where the stone didn't reach all the way into the riccaso. They don't come from Spyderco that way.

 how is it benya's knife? nirvanero paid for it and given igor's lack of any type of responsibility handling this situation i wouldn't send him any knife until i had money in my account. read more post less...:jerkit:

Just to clarify i am not defending anyone or any action i just think the only resolution to this whole mess is one party sends the knife and the other refunds the whole amount and call it a day.

No, you implied that the "spanish dude" was trying to pull a scam. Just to clarify.

Just to clarify Yes emt i was implying that the spanish dude was trying to to pull a scam. Who died and made your smug arrogant ass the judge of edges. You are trying to tell me that you want people to believe that you are so good at telling edges you can tell a factory edge from a sharpened one from pictures, and not only that you can tell what system it was sharpened on. You are so fucking full of shit.. People like you are the prime example why many members of the knife community avoid the forums which is really unfortunate.

Hi hillbillie -

If you examine the picture posted by benya, and the picture from "Spanish dude", you can see that it is the same exact blade with the same markings from the grinds on the blade.

For your perusal, I have enlarged one area of the picture posted by benya on JD of this knife for sale - please note the distinct grind lines emphasized by the red arrows:

and now can be compared the grind lines on the picture posted from Spain by nirvanero:

It seems clear that the knife is the same one that was shipped to Spain.

best regards -

In all fairness, i will say this....i have knives that developed rust in transit...i have also received many factory knives that had flaws of all types including grind flaws.

I hope these two work this out.

When the Ti millies came out i went through a dozen...all had loose pivots and 3 or 4 had blade flaws.

I own several prior millies and if i look hard enough i can find a flaw.

Big Mark, No doubt that what you say is true. I am sure there are many knives which people believe are NIB which are not exactly NIB. Dealers and retailers sometimes take returns without a thorough inspection for example. Sometimes factory QC is not always 100% as we all know. If you read the whole thread, though, I think you will agree that benya has a pattern of less than fully honest behavior such as this. Inaccurately described condition. A number of members have chimed in to verify this. And he has refused post any explanations in this thread (which he started, BTW). To me it is clear that he is not to be trusted. Especially when the high cost of international freight charges are involved. Just my $0.02.

I didn't want to get deep in this thread but i had transactions with him in the past and they were all good.

Just sayin stuff happens and i hope they work it out. :)

Understood. That was my first post in this one, also. I have been following it closely, however. Obviously a bunch of people have left him positive feedback. The problem I have with iTrader is I think that too many people fear getting in a dust up like this and just "trade" positive iTrader feedback when it might not be deserved. Reading the comments left here in the feedback forum is always a good idea. I remember before iTrader that doing a search here in this forum was the only way to gauge a potential Buyer/Seller/Trader's character. When people speak up and say things like "I left him positive feedback but I wasn't really satisfied" that speaks volumes. Mark, I think you're lucky that you didn't get used knives that were described as new cause' that's uncool. Apparently that IS what happened to a few people here.

That's what FEEDBACK is supposed to be for. But we tend to get carried away, pick sides, ratchet up the tension and antagonism, and too often end up interfering with the two sides coming to an agreement.

We should be hoping they work it out, even if someone did mess up. We don't do that by chasing one of them away.
