you really make very little sense.
I'm kinda tuning him out now. Once he starting making ordered lists for replies proving his inability to appreciate anything stainless.

might want to stick to debating politics & economics :barf:
You sound like just another anonymous self pro-claimed expert with an axe to grind. If you don't like Strider fine , but jeez man at least try to make sense when you talk about knives.
So let's see what you got. I take it with all the experience you have in fighting knives and the such , you must really make some killer knives. Picts ? Link ? anything ??
Is this from internet research or personal experience ? Or you just making it up as you go along ?
Everything I said in this thread about steel, designs and prices are simple facts known to everyone knowledgeable about knives.I deal in facts, not bullshit.
If it takes an expert to know that a combat prybar-type 1/4" thick knife should be made of carbon and not stainless steel and it shouldn`t cost the same as a house in Michigan, then I`m the knife expert. This thread is ultimately about basic honesty.
Here is a great site for some of you to further hone your skills of internet debate:

The tactics listed here are used by shills in political forums but as we see here, even in knife debates.

Wow, throw in a little Michigan joke while you're at it. Classy. :thumbdn:
no kidding.
if houses are that cheap there, i can buy a whole neighborhood with the knives i have stored in my safe.
Come down to where I work and you could probably buy a couple of city blocks. The sad part is things are really that bad. I'll be lucky to have a job in a couple months, and I'm trying to go to school.

sorry to hear that buddy.

any particular reason you're flinging shit at John Greco's product because of one person? At least the Greco threads are nice and orderly. I guess that's how it is when they are the BEST folders since the beginning of time.

You obviously get what you pay for. "I had never even heard of the guy" and you wanna crack on his livelihood because of one unassociated joker. Good game.
I ain't worried about my sensibilities, but this thread is spiraling like so many before. We got this one guy flaming people and pushing buttons left and right, and a maker gets caught up in the storm. Now that the word shill has been thrown out there, and the specific question of shilling Grecos in specific, someone is gonna ask themselves 'Greco has people shill for him?' when there is nothing suggesting that anything remotely similar is happening. If anything, this would be an example of exactly how not to shill. What we have here is a Greco fanboy who is turning people off to his work, and that shouldn't be happening. AFAIK, John Greco does not operate like Mantis Knives.
Starting from the top, S90V is too hard to sharpen for the average person, it's very hard. It is not about the same, it's quite a bit harder, especially if you lost the initial edge due to neglect. I certainly wouldn't say it's the best choice for folding stainless steels. It has a specific application where it fits, and that isn't the average knife.
What is this "does not chip like S30V" ? I've used my SMF (and countless other S30V knives) and never once had a chipping problem.
