Both well within my "budget"

I'm curious why you would post this on a budget-minded thread. It's the exact opposite and has no place here. And you actually took the time to upload a picture too. It looks like a Chinese fake to me so maybe it is "budget". DB!

Didn't mean any harm, I'm a bit new to the forums

No worries here. Budget is in the eyes of the beer holder. Years ago I may have thought budget would be a $2 knife compared to a $20 primary. Now even a couple of my ZT 's or mid-range Spyders might count as budget when pared with my current primary edc. I like seeing everyone's approach, even if one persons budget is their UG Damascus Sebenza when compared to their super custom (as long as it's actually carried and not just a safe queen).

These are the only ones I have photos of. Some of the photos have more expensive knives and inexpensive knives together.

Thanks

I guess my alox cadet I carry everyday is my budget blade. But I never just carry that. ;)

But very expensive to some for what it is. $80 for a Spyderco will get you a lot more cutting ability, and arguably (not really arguable but being nice) more useful steel and better quality. GEC appeals mostly to traditional collectors. Consider the recent "new model rope (navy) knife"...... at how many pieces??? I rest my case. I own many GECs and I think I'm done buying them. Price does not justify what you get, in my humble opinion. And yes I own 2 GEC 83s, one natural stag and one autumn bone. Both required the kick to be sanded down by ME. Tips of both blades sat proud enough to cut whist locating the knife in the pocket. Unacceptable at that price point. Not a budget EDC as OP proposed.

Sorry, it was not my intention to cause a problem.

At one time, my budget was $600 for a knife, but I have friends that scoff at a $20 knife as being too expensive. I haven't bought a new knife over $100 in a long time, mostly just Mora knives. I don't consider those to be budget either. I consider them to be great value. I see a budget knife as something you need, but it's not particularly what you want. If you walked into a knife shop and said you want a Medford Praetorian, but your budget is $200, the clerk will show you what's available in that range.

I find it particularly funny that people consider a $20 knife, a budget knife. Unless you had to save up money to buy it, it's not a budget knife. However, if you want to say that you bought it because it fit in your budget, then we can agree that everyone's budget is different. Point being, if my budget for the month is $100, and I didn't buy a knife for the month, then maybe next month my budget is $200.

First post on BladeForums. I have a few "budget" EDC knives. My current favorite is a Case Sodbuster Jr CV.

Probably my Shirogorov Mod 95... Kidding, Kidding XD I'd say my Mora Companion. So easy to make so sharp.
